Researchers asked sme 150 peple attending several university events t chse their lunch between tw ptins, ne f them vegan. Half the respndents in bth studies randmly received an rder frm in which the vegan item was labelled. After the research was published, sme peple tld the study's lead authr, Alex Berke, a dctral student at MIT's Media Lab, the results were unexpected. But she anticipated the utcme. As I grew up, I had t admit that Grandpa's stries went n a little lng, even a little bring and gradually lst their magic. Hwever, nt wanting t upset him, my brther and I wuld smetimes take turns sitting in the living rm, listening t grandpa tell his stries.
When my grandpa was appraching 91, he suffered frm serius memry-lss. It was kind f what dctrs called dementia (痴呆),prbably the earliest stage f Alzheimer's disease. Fllwing the dctr's directins, we mved him int a Sunrise Assisted Living Cmmunity, where he culd get a better care. After that grandpa hardly came t ur huse.
One weekend befre my grandpa's birthday, I came t visit him. Seeing grandpa sitting in his armchair, dull-lking, I was filled with mixed feelings. I wheeled grandpa t the sunshine in the curtyard, talking t him. He culdn't express himself clearly and spke in shrt bursts, but I listened t him patiently and carefully just as I used t be a little by.
It was then that I nticed a shadw bx with sme ld and yellwish phts in it. I picked ne up, in which my brther, several bys in ur neighbrhd, and I were playing basketball, wearing basketball jerseys (球衣), with grandpa cheering us n ten years befre.
