Step 1 Greeting and Lead - in (5 minutes)
The teacher warmly greets the students and has a simple daily cnversatin, such as "Hw are yu tday? What did yu have fr breakfast?" t create a relaxed classrm atmsphere.
Shw sme pictures r vide clips f peple cking fd. Guide the students t bserve and ask questins like "What can yu see in the pictures/vides? What are they ding?" Encurage the students t express their bservatins in simple English t lead in the theme f this lessn - fd cking.
Step 2 Vcabulary Learning (8 minutes)
Use the PPT t display the vcabulary in 1a ne by ne, such as "add", "cut up", "mix", "pur", "bil", "bake", etc. Lead the students t read the wrds and crrect their prnunciatins. Help the students understand the meanings f the wrds by shwing relevant cking - actin pictures r vides. Fr example, play a vide f cutting vegetables t explain "cut up" and shw a picture f puring liquid int a cntainer t explain "pur".
Distribute wrd cards. Let the students wrk in pairs. One student shws the card, and the ther reads the wrd and says its meaning. Then they switch rles. The teacher walks arund the grups t check the students' practice and give timely guidance and help.
Play a vcabulary game called "Actin Guessing". The teacher makes a certain cking actin, and the students quickly guess the crrespnding wrd. Thrugh this game, stimulate the students' learning interest and deepen their memry f the vcabulary.
Step 3 Listening Practice (10 minutes)
Let the students lk at the pictures and vcabulary in 1a. The teacher says, "Nw, let's listen t a cnversatin abut making fd. Please listen carefully and tick the ingredients yu hear in 1b." Play the recrding f 1b, and the students listen and cmplete the task.
After playing the recrding, invite the students t share their answers. The teacher checks the answers and gives a simple explanatin f the listening cntent t help the students understand the key infrmatin in the listening material.
Play the recrding f 1b again. Let the students listen and cmplete the task in 1c, numbering the instructins. After playing, invite the students t share their answers, check and explain the answers t help the students understand the listening cntent. When explaining the answers, the listening text can be cmbined t help the students better understand the sentence structures and key infrmatin.
Step 4 Oral Practice (7 minutes)
The teacher makes a demnstratin: "Let's talk abut hw t make mashed ptates. First, wash the ptates. Next, cut them int pieces. Then, put the ptates in a pt and bil them until they are sft. After that, add salt and pepper. Finally, mash the ptates." Guide the students t bserve the pictures and use the learned vcabulary and adverbs f sequence t describe the prcess f making mashed ptates.
Let the students wrk in pairs. Accrding t the pictures and vcabulary in 1a, they chse a fd and have a cnversatin practice, describing its cking prcess t each ther. The teacher walks arund the grups, encurages the students t speak actively, and crrects their grammar mistakes and prnunciatin prblems in time.
Invite several pairs f students t shw their cnversatins. The ther students listen carefully and give evaluatins. The evaluatin cntent includes the accuracy f vcabulary usage, the crrectness f sentence patterns, and the fluency f expressin. Step 5 Prnunciatin Practice (5 minutes)
Play the prnunciatin - practice audi and display the classificatin f phnetic symbls, such as /əʊ/ (ptat, cat, etc.), /aʊ/ (huse, hw, etc.). Let the students fllw and imitate, paying attentin t the muth - shape and tngue - psitin f prnunciatin.
Play the audi again. The students fllw the audi, and the teacher emphasizes the rhythm and intnatin f the sentences. Invite individual students t imitate and read alud. The teacher crrects and guides them t help the students master the crrect prnunciatin skills.
Step 6 Listening and Oral Expansin (10 minutes)
Play the recrding f the cnversatin in 2a. Let the students listen and think abut the questins: "What dish are they talking abut? What are the steps t make it?" After playing the recrding, invite the students t answer the questins.
Play the recrding again. The students fllw the recrding and imitate the prnunciatin and intnatin. Then let the students wrk in pairs and read the cnversatin in rles, paying attentin t the prnunciatin, intnatin, and emtinal expressin.
Invite several pairs f students t shw their perfrmance. The ther students listen carefully and give evaluatins. The teacher finally summarizes and gives feedback. Guide the students t pay attentin t the vcabulary and sentence patterns describing the cking prcess in the cnversatin and encurage them t use them flexibly in real - life cmmunicatin.
