      Seahrses are small, thin fish. They’re called “seahrses” because they lk a bit like hrses. Althugh they’re fish, seahrses aren’t great swimmers. They ften use their tail t hld nt smething in the water. There are ver 40 different kinds f seahrses. Many kinds f them are in danger.
      On July 18,2023, Australian scientists released (释放) hundreds f baby White’s seahrses int the wild. White’s seahrses are mainly fund near Sydney, Australia. In 2020, these seahrses were named the secnd mst endangered kind f seahrse in the wrld. That’s partly because f pllutin, and partly because many f the areas where they live, like seagrasses and cral reefs, have been lst.
      T begin the prject, scientists cllected three pregnant (怀孕的) male seahrses in January. Thse seahrses were brught back t the aquarium (水族馆) at the Sydney Institute f Marine Science (SIMS).
      After the babies were brn, the scientists kept them at the aquarium fr five mnths, feeding the baby seahrses tiny shrimp (small shellfish) t help them grw strng. Scientist Mitchell Brennan says, “They dn’t have a stmach, s they have t eat cntinuusly (连续地).”
