Dr. Mark Brwne in Santa Barbara, Califrnia, has been studying plastic pllutin and micrfibers fr 10 years nw. He explains that every time synthetic clthes g int a washing machine, a large number f plastic fibers fall ff. Mst washing machines can’t cllect these micrfibers. S every time the water gets ut f a washing machine, micrfibers are entering the sewers and finally end up in the sea.
In 2011, Brwne wrte a paper stating that a single piece f synthetic(合成的) clthing can prduce mre than 1, 900 fibers per wash.
