      1. (unit 1)
      (1) Peple sit uncmfrtably n plastic chairs, lking thrugh ld magazines, all f which have been read hundreds f times previusly.
在定语从句中all f which为主语,have been read为谓语动词。
He read several nvels, ne f which was his favrite.
      (2) I walk thrugh the drs int the waiting area, where there’s a familiar atmsphere f bredm and tensin.
The sprts meeting will be put ff till next Wednesday, when we will have made full preparatins.
      2. (unit 1)
Althugh it’s the dctrs and nurses wh will treat her injury, it’s my jb t make her feel better.
It is the vlunteers wh/that assist the lcals and beautify the cmmunity.
      3. (unit 2)
The respnse frm a publisher cmes back and the writer eagerly pens and reads it, their hearts sinking when they reach that final sentence.
There being n bus, we had t g back hme.
      4. (unit 2) nly
Only when darkness had again descended upn me shuld I realize hw much I had left unseen.
Only by shuting was he able t make himself heard.
      5. (unit 3) be thught t d…
Despite his father’s successful career, Stephen was thught by many peple, including his high schl teammates and caches, t be t shrt, t thin and t weak t fllw in his father’s ftsteps.
Stephen was thught t be t shrt…be thught t d…表示“被认为做某事”,可以将此结构改为:it was/is thught that…, 所以这句话可以改为it was thught by many peple, including his high schl teammates and caches that Stephen was t shrt, t thin and t weak t fllw in his father’s ftsteps。类似结构还有it is/was said/believed/reprted…that…=sb./sth. is/was said/believed/reprted t d…
He was said t leave fr anther cuntry. = It was said that he wuld leave fr anther cuntry.
      6. (unit 3)
And there we see the Chinese players embracing, with tears f happiness in their eyes…
I saw him criticized by his teacher fr being late.
But ne thing is fr sure—with s many artists explring new pssibilities, we can definitely expect the unexpected.
在此句中with复合结构的宾语为s many artists,宾语补足语为explring new pssibilities, 用动词ing,是因为宾语和宾语补足语成主动关系。
With a lt f wrk dne, he went back hme, relieved.
      8. (unit 5) be said t have dne “据说已经发生…”
Alexander the Great and Marc Pl were said t have visited such a tree in India.
      分析:句中谓语动词为were said, 不定式t have visited… be said t have dne sb. /sth. is/was said t have dne= it is/was said that sb./sth….
He was said t have given up smking fr mnths. = It was said that he had given up smking fr mnths.
The train has been racing alng steadily since it left Xining.
My partner has been practicing the pian since she was 5 years.
The first landmark t catch my eye is the splendid Qingshuihe Bridge, the wrld’s lngest bridge built ver permafrst.
句中the first landmark为句子的主语,不定式t catch my eye做后置定语修饰the first landmark, 句子的谓语动词是is, 表语为the plendid Qingshuihe Bridge.
The last student t reach the final line was my desk mate.

Back in the 1950’s the idea f Chinese fd in the UK and America was simplistic; tinned Chinese curries (咖喱菜肴), prcessed fds and cnfused flavurs (味道), like Chinese fd n pizza. Takeut restaurants were few and far between and ther cuisines with less experimental flavurs were favured by Westerners.
