    What Are Cluds?
A Clud is made f water drps r ice crystals flating (漂浮) in the sky. There are many kinds f clud. Cluds are f great imprtance t Earth’s weather.
The sky can be full f water. But mst f the time yu can’t see the water. The drps f water are t small t see. They have turned int a gas called water vapr. As the water vapr ges higher in the sky, the air ges cler. The cler air causes the water drplets (微滴) t start t stick t things such as bits f dust, ice r sea salt.
Cluds get their names in tw ways. One way is by where they are fund in the sky. Sme cluds are high up in the sky. Lw cluds frm clser t Earth’s surface. In fact, lw cluds can even tuch the grund. These cluds are called fg. Middle cluds are fund between lw and high cluds.
Anther way cluds are named is by their shape. Cirrus cluds (卷云) are high cluds. They lk like feathers. Cumulus cluds are middle cluds. These cluds lk like giant cttn balls in the sky. Stratus cluds are lw cluds. They cver the sky like bed sheets.
Mst f the water in cluds is in very small drplets. The drplets are s light that they flat in the air. Smetimes thse drplets jin with ther drplets. Then they turn int larger drps. When that happens, gravity (重力) causes them t fall the Earth. We call the falling water drps “rain”. When the air is clder, the water may frm snwflakes instead. Freezing rain, sleet r even hail can fall frm cluds.
Cluds are imprtant fr many reasns. Rain and snw are tw f thse reasns. At night, cluds reflect heat and keep the grund warmer. During the day, cluds make shade that can keep us cler. Studying cluds helps peple have a better understanding f Earth’s weather. Peple use satellites in space t study cluds.

    Fur kinds f friends
I nce believed that a friend is a friend “all the way”. Nw I have changed my ideas abut friendships.
Friends f cnvenience(便利). They can be the peple wh live next dr r the mthers f ur children’s clsest friends. They will help us when we need it. They will lk after ur cats when we g n hliday. But we dn’t ever get t clse r tell t much. We keep ur public face and emtinal(情感的) distance, which means that we’ll talk abut being verweight but nt abut being happy r sad. Hwever, peple still feel these friendships valuable(珍贵的) t them.
Special-interest friends. These friendships aren’t deeply persnal r emtinal. Their value lies in sme shared interest, s we may have an ffice friend, a tennis friend, r even a shpping friend.
Histrical Friends. We all have a friend wh knew us well when…, maybe we were back in the secnd grade f primary schl, when ur family lived in that tw-rm flat dwntwn. He r she was the first, the nly friend we tld ur secrets t.
The years have gne by, and we have gne different ways. We have little in cmmn(共同)nw, but we are still a persnal part f each ther’s past. We knw hw we lked befre ur teeth were straightened, and ur getting tgether helps us remember an earlier part f urselves, which is imprtant and never lst.
Crss-generatinal(代) friends. These are friendships that frm acrss generatins. I have in my wn life a precius(珍贵的) friend, a wman f 65, wh is wise, wh listens well, and wh represents(代表) nt nly an ideal mther t me but als the persn I’d like t be when I grw up.

Hwever, theater wners were against ppcrn. They believed it wuld make the experience f watching a mvie less enjyable. Eating it wuld make t much nise during the silent mvies.
Abut 20 years later, when mvies added sunds, the eating nise prblem went away. Mre and mre peple went t the mvies. Sme f them even secretly tk ppcrn int the theaters. Later, mre mvie theaters pened. Peple were allwed (允许) t eat ppcrn in sme f the theaters while they were watching mvies.
In the 1930s, the theater wners realized that peple didn’t need t buy ppcrn frm street vendrs. Because ppcrn was easy t make, they culd make and sell it n their wn. They did that and the smell f ppcrn drew mre peple t their theaters. The wners made a lt f mney, and peple enjyed themselves at the mvies.
Tday, ppcrn is still an imprtant part f the mvie-ging experience. Rles, a man wh nce ate three bags f ppcrn, said, “Peple cme t theaters smetimes just fr the ppcrn. They dn’t even care what is playing!”

Nvember is the final exam seasn, and everyne wrries abut it. As a student with sme exam experiences, I want t share sme tips that have helped me face final exams.
First, n waiting. I usually begin my review abut tw weeks earlier. Althugh the exam preparatin starts abut ne week befre the final exam. Dn’t start it when we are wrried by a lt f hmewrk and tests. N ne in the final weeks will have much memry f what they learnt in ne week. I usually g thrugh the ntes I tk t refresh(恢复)my memry. This helps me get the parts that I d nt understand well and be better prepared fr the practice exams that I d later. At least, it gives me a sense f cntrl. This can be very imprtant when yu lse yurself.
Secnd, dn’t stay up. A lt f peple stay up late reviewing befre the exam, but this is nt healthy at all. Sleep is necessary t get back ur situatins. In fact, sleep can help strengthen(增强)ur memries! I recmmend this based n(依赖于)my persnal experience—I always feel tired the next day if I g t sleep after 2 a.m. Withut enugh sleep, I can’t stay thinking. We dn’t need t review instead f sleeping time.
Third, study with friends. This may nt wrk fr everyne, but I persnally find it helpful. Having friends t study with nt nly prvides us with chances t find ut blind spts in ur understanding but als allws us t have different ways, which are helpful in prblem-slving. Als, studying with friends can keep me thinking, and talking t them can make me calm.

As mre and mre peple begin t read nline, d we still need libraries nw? Reprter Ian Clark has the answer. “Libraries are still imprtant-peple still find it greater and easier t use them.”
Accrding t him, nt everyne has enugh mney t buy a smart phne, r a cmputer, and nt everyne knws hw t search the Internet, but libraries can ffer peple the same chance t get what they want t knw abut. And smetimes the infrmatin nline is nt crrect. It will take yu a lt f time t find what yu really need. Libraries are mre reliable(可靠的). Mrever, we still need a kind f place that a library prvides. In a library, it’s easy t get lst in reading and wrking and it’s als less pssible fr us t stp t d smething else.
S wrking in a library is quite helpful. We usually call this kind f place “third places”. There are sme ther “third places” like cffee shps. They can als make yu relax cmpletely.
