And in Singapre 665,000 tnnes f fd waste was prduced in 2020, amunting t $342 millin, nly 19% f which was recycled. Chua Kai-Ning and her partner, Phua Jun Wei, funded Insectta in 2017. They are battling Singapre’s fd waste with the help f the black sldier fly larva — the immature frm f a fly.
    "The idea behind Insectta is that nthing ges t waste," said Chua. "Waste can be reimagined as a resurce if we change hw we think abut ur prductin methds, and hw we deal with waste."
