Neither kala is likely t be healthy enugh fr release fr at least fur mnths, and bth are being cmfrted by caretakers fr their scrched paws every few hurs.
Glbal interest in the fate f Sam has been intense since a phtgraph f firefighter David Tree ffering her a bttle f water in a burned-ut frest was splashed acrss the Internet, in newspapers and n televisin bradcasts. The telephne at the shelter has rung cntinually with callers’ eager fr updates n the creature’s cnditin.
“It’s crazy,” Raymnd said with a laugh. “But everybdy has been abslutely wnderful.”
Sam was fund mving n scrched paws by a fire patrl n Sunday. Tree then held ut a bttle f water fr her t drink, which she eagerly accepted, hlding Tree’s hand as he pured water int her muth.
After suffering secnd-and-third-degree bums t her paws, Sam has been sharing a cage with Bb, wh tk immediate interest in her when she arrived n Sunday.
Bth Sam and Bb were given painkillers when they first arrived, but they’re ff the drugs nw. The tw are still receiving antibitics(抗生素)and have their bandages changed regularly t avid infectins.
