The Luvre Museum r the Luvre is a histric mnument in Paris, France. A central landmark f the city, it is lcated n the right bank f the Seine in the city’s 1st district. The museum is hused in the Luvre Palace, riginally builtas a frtress in the late 12th century. It pened n 10 August 1793 with an exhibitin f 537 paintings. Nwadays, apprximately 38,000 bjects frm prehistry t the 21st century are exhibited ver an area f 72,735 square metres. It receives millins f visitrs each year.
