The 21-year-ld student frm the cllege f Special Educatin f Changchun University, Jilin Prvince, Zhan Junyi has been deaf since birth. But he has vercme great difficulties t achieve his dream f becming a prfessinal dancer, and is nw able t hear music thrugh an artificial cchlea (人工耳蜗).

Chinese writing has a histry f six r seven thusand years. Calligraphy(书法) the art f writing, is almst as ld as writing itself.
In ancient times, written Chinese was first symbls and pictures. Then, they gradually became characters. Later, characters and even full sentences were written n animal bnes r shells fr cmmunicatin.
With time passing by, a number f written frms appeared. Each had its wn lcal style. In the 3rd century BC, the First Emperr, Qinshihuang, set the same standard fr the written characters— “small seal” script. It was first used in his wn state f Qin, then in the whle natin. That writing system was very imprtant in uniting(联合) the Chinese peple and culture. At the same time, Cheng Mia develped anther style called “clerical” script. It used shrt, straight brush strkes (笔画) t write quickly. By Han times, calligraphers had created a new style knwn as “regular” script. Frm the Tang Dynasty, it became the standard frm used in gvernment exams.
