1. Lk at the sentences frm the reading passage. Decide which tense each is in and match the tenses t what they describe.

2. Nw match the sentences t the crrect timelines and find mre examples f these tenses in the reading passage.
1.一般现在时的用法(1) 表示经常性、习惯性的动作和现在的状 态、特征, 句中常用ften, usually, every day等时间状语。 eg He ges t schl every day. (经常性动作) He is very happy. (现在的状态)
(2) 表示按计划、规定要发生的动作, (句中都带有时间状语) 但限于少数动词。如begin, cme, leave, g, arrive, start, stp, return, pen, clse等。 eg The train starts at nine in the mrning.(3) 表示客观真实或普遍真理。 eg Light travels faster than sund.
(4) 书报的标题, 小说等情节介绍常用一般现在时。 eg Xi meets jurnalists.(5) 在时间状语从句和条件状语从句中, 用现在时代替将来时。 eg If yu cme this afternn, we’ll have a meeting.
2. 现在进行时的用法(1) 表示说话时正在进行的动作。常与nw, right nw, at present, at mment等时间状语及lk, listen等标志词连用。 eg We are having an English class nw.(2) 表示按计划或安排将要发生的动作。常用的动词有g, cme, leave, arrive, begin, stp等。 eg My sister is cming back frm Beijing.
另外“系动词+介词或副词”也表示进行时的意义。eg The bridge is under cnstructin.
(3) 与always, cnstantly等连用, 表示感情色 彩。 eg He is always helping thers. (4) 表示现阶段正在进行而此时不一定正在进行的动作。 eg He is writing a bk these days.
注意:下列动词不宜用进行时① 感觉类:lk, smell, feel, sund, taste, see, hear等;② 感情类:like, lve, prefer, admire, hate, fear等;③ 所有类:have, cntain, wn, hld, belng t等。
3. 现在完成时的用法“have+过去分词”构成。 (1) “已完成”。 表示的动作在说话之前已完成, 而对现在有影响, 句中没有具体时间状语。常与already, just, yet, befre, s far, every, nce等连用。 eg We have received a letter frm his recently.
eg He has gne t Beijing. 他现在到北京去了。 现在可能去北京的路上,也可能已到达北京) He has been t Beijing. 他曾经去过北京。
(2) “已完成”。 现在完成时所表示的动作开始于过去, 持 续到现在, 也许还会持续下去。常与表示一段时间的状语s far, in the past / last few years, up t nw等连用。 fr...和since...等表示一段时间的状语或s far等表示包括现在时间在内的状语连用。 eg He has studied English fr 5 years. He has studied English since 2014.
注意: 表示短暂时间动作的词, 如cme, g, die, marry, buy等的完成时不能与fr, since等表示一段时间的词连用。
(3) 还可用在时间和条件状语从句中, 表示将来某时完成的动作, 强调此动作先于主句动作发生。 eg I’ll g t yur hme when I have finished my hmewrk. Dn’t get ff the bus until it has stpped.
4. 一般过去时的用法(1) 表示过去某时间发生的事、存在的状态或过去反复发生的动作。 eg He saw Mr. Wang yesterday. He wrked in a factry in 1986.
(2) 表示过去经常发生的动作(也可用“used t”或“wuld+动词原形”代替)。 eg During the vacatin I ften swam /wuld swim in the sea. I used t smke.注意: used t表示过去常发生而现在不再发生的动作或存在的状态。
5. 过去进行时的用法(1) 表示过去某一时刻、某一阶段正进行的动 作, 由“was (were)+现在分词”构成。 eg He was reading a nvel when I came in. (2) 与always, frever, cnstantly连用, 表示赞 成或厌恶的感情色彩。 eg He was always thinking f thers, never thinking f himself.
6. 一般将来时的用法 一般将来时表示将来的动作或状态, 其表达形式除了“will或shall+动词原形”外, 还有以下几种。(1) 表示将要发生的动作或存在的状态,常与表示将来的时间状语连用,如tmrrw, next week, in the future等。 eg My brther will cme tmrrw.
(2) “be ging t+动词原形”, 表示即将发生的或最近打算进行的事。 eg It is ging t rain. We are ging t have a meeting tday.
(3) “be abut t+动词原形”表示即将发生 的动作。一般不与具体的时间状语连用。 eg The plane is abut t leave.
(4) “be t+动词原形”表示按计划要发生 的事或征求对方意见, 也可以表示命令、禁止等。 eg Are we t g n with this wrk?
时态的比较一般过去时与现在完成时一般过去时只表示过去的动作或状态,不涉及对现在的影响;现在完成时表示过去发生的某一动作或存在的状态对现在造成的影响或结果,强调的是现在的状况。eg We talked fr hurs n the phne. The ship has sailed fr tw weeks.
一般过去时和表示过去的时间状语连用;现在完成时常和包括“现在时刻”在内的时间状语或笼统地表示过去的时间状语连用。eg The flight lasted ten hurs and we landed at 6:30 in the mrning. I have been there nly nce this year. I have seen his name in the papers rather ften recently.
