Plastic straws (吸管) are a mdern inventin, althugh peple have been using different types f things fr drinking water fr centuries. By the 1960s, plastic straws have becme cmmn. It is said that 500 millin straws are used just in the United States each day.
S what's the prblem? The prblem is that plastics, including plastic straws that are usually thrwn away after ne use, end up in the the wrld's ceans. As many as 8.3 billin plastic straws pllute the wrld's beaches and ceans.
