      读后续写,顾名思义就是给一篇未完待续的故事补上结局。此类写作要求学生在阅读并理解文意的基础上,充分发挥想象,推敲故事情节的发展方向,构建意义连贯且逻辑性强的语篇。与传统写作相比,读后续写不仅把读和写结合在一起,而且把语言输入和语言输出整合在同一语境中,综合考查学生的英语运用能力、文化素养及创新性思维。
    一、 设题形式  读后续写是给考生提供一篇350词以内的语言材料,要求考生依据材料内容、所给段落开头语进行续写(150词左右),将其发展成一篇与给定材料有逻辑性衔接的短文,并保证其情节合理和结构完整。全方位考查读写能力,给考生更多发挥想象力、展示写作水平的空间。
    三、评价标准  读后续写评价包括三个方面:语言、内容和思维。1.语言方面:读,即输入;写,即输出。要求考生首先能够了解所给短文的主要内容,把握短文关键信息;其次能够准确、恰当地使用所学词汇和语法结构,并能够根据语境变化,灵活地迁移语言知识和技能。
    2.内容方面:对语篇结构的掌控和语篇的衔接。要求考生掌握语篇的结构和上下文的逻辑关系,并且做到语篇的三衔接:所续写的短文和原文之间的衔接;续写段落和段落开头语的衔接;两个段落之间的衔接。3.思维方面:对续写思路的批判性选择及创造。要求考生基于所给文本及段落开头语构思情节,并创造出反映价值观和世界观的语篇。
    四、写作步骤  基于高考时间,特总结出操作性强、实践有效的“六三”续写模式。
    第一讲 多维有效解读 高效提取信息
      读后续写给出的文本一般以记叙文为主,以记人、叙事为主,主要围绕人物的经历和事情的发展变化展开。因此,要有效完成读后续写任务,达成语篇的协同一致,对文本准确理解和把握是第一步。  多维有效的文本解读,记叙文的六要素:5W+1H(时间When、地点Where、人物Wh、事件What、原因Why、方式Hw)。准确抓取这些要素,能够有效地把握文章主旨大意及情节发展。
    ·读懂——文体、要素和主题[典题示例]  阅读下面的材料,完成以下任务。  (2020·新高考全国卷Ⅰ)The Meredith family lived in a small cmmunity.As the ecnmy was in decline, sme peple in the twn had lst their jbs.Many f their families were struggling t make ends meet.Peple were trying t help each ther meet the challenges.
      Mrs.Meredith was a mst kind and thughtful wman.She spent a great deal f time visiting the pr.She knew they had prblems, and they needed all kinds f help.When she had time, she wuld bring fd and medicine t them.  One mrning she tld her children abut a family she had visited the day befre.There was a man sick in bed, his wife, wh tk care f him and culd nt g ut t wrk, and their little by.The little by—his name was Bernard—had interested her very much.
      “I wish yu culd see him,” she said t her wn children, Jhn, Harry, and Clara.“He is such a help t his mther.He wants very much t earn sme mney, but I dn't see what he can d.”  After their mther left the rm, the children sat thinking abut Bernard.“I wish we culd help him t earn mney,” said Clara.“His family is suffering s much.”
      “S d I,” said Harry.“We really shuld d smething t assist them.”  Fr sme mments, Jhn said nthing, but, suddenly, he sprang t his feet and cried, “I have a great idea! I have a slutin that we can all help accmplish (完成).”
      The ther children als jumped up all attentin.When Jhn had an idea, it was sure t be a gd ne.“I tell yu what we can d,” said Jhn.“Yu knw that big bx f crn Uncle Jhn sent us? Well, we can make ppcrn (爆米花), and put it int paper bags, and Bernard can take it arund t the huses and sell it.”

      “Suspended cffee?” I asked my friend. “What des that mean?”“Yu've never heard f it?” my friend asked, and I shk my head. “Fllw me,” he tld me, and we jined the line f peple standing in frnt f the cash register.
      “What can I ffer yu tday?” the cashier asked a cuple f yung lawyers wh were lking at the menu. “I think we'll take three cups f cffee,” ne f them said. “Tw nw, and ne suspended.” The cashier ndded, as if it were an rdinary rder, tk the payment and placed tw cups f ht cffee n the cunter. The tw thanked him, tk the tw cups and left withut waiting fr the third.
    The next in line was an lder cuple. “The same rder as always?” the cashier smiled at them. “Yes, thank yu,” replied the wman. “But please add tw cups f suspended cffee. We haven't purchased any f thse fr quite a while.”
      A few minutes later the cuple received their rder, and ur turn t rder arrived.“Gd mrning!”said the cashier.“Hw can I help yu?”“I think we'd like tw cups f cffee,” my friend said. “We'll drink them here.” When ur rder was ready, we tk ur cups and sat dwn t drink them tgether. “Will yu tell me what this is abut?” I asked my friend, but he just said, “Wait and see.”
      Our cnversatin flwed, and befre we nticed it, nearly tw hurs passed. The café was almst empty f peple when the dr suddenly pened and a man in ld shabby clthes and a tired lk came in and std quietly in frnt f the cash register.  注意:续写词数应为150左右。
