    Officials at Nrthland Pines Schl District are wrking with a tech cmpany called Spky Actin n a prgram t allw students t use the Internet thrugh drnes(无人机).
    Abut 10 percent f Nrthland Pines students dn’t have any Internet access at hme, and as many as 40 percent have pr cnnectin speeds which hardly meet the demands f hme learning. District leaders have tried fr mre than ten years t clse that gap, but there are n easy slutins. “We’re a district f abut 500 square miles and getting Internet cnnectin fr every family is a challenge,” says Harlan Leusink, the directr f technlgy fr the district.
    The prgram will use drnes that are cnnected t a pwer surce n the grund and that can stay in the air fr weeks and even mnths. The drnes will serve as flying cell twers. Hwever, the purpse f designing drnes had nthing t d with the educatin but it was related t disasters. “A hurricane cmes in and blws dwn all yur cell twers; it’s pretty easy t put up a flying cell twer,” Rahul Tiwari, Spky Actin's CEO, says. “It's nt necessary t replace a cell twer. The idea is t quickly meet the Internet needs f a cmmunity withut having t build a millin cell twers everywhere.”
    While the drnes can stay in the air fr mre than a mnth, that’s nt usually necessary when they prvide the Internet fr students. Tiwari says the drnes will be active during peak(高峰) class and hmewrk times and wn’t be flying vernight.
