Research suggests there culd be a simple, safe, and ecnmical way t relieve pain: green light. And a new animal study reveals the bilgical basis f hw it might wrk.
Scientists have been explring the pain-relieving effects f green light fr at least half a decade, uncvering an ccasinal clue n exactly hw it happens. This new muse study, led by neurscientist Yu-Lng Tang f Fudan University in Shanghai, further specifically reveals the eye cells and brain pathways that supprt the pain relief smetimes felt after expsure t lw-intensity green light. It was discvered that cnes and rds (视锥细胞和视杆细胞) —the eye cells that sense light—cntributed t the pain-relieving effects f green light in healthy mice and mice with diseases.
As scientists ften d, the researchers inactivated certain cells t see what effect that had n the animals’ sense f pain. When they inactivated the rds in sme mice, thse animals shwed nly partial relief with green light, while mice withut cnes shwed n signs f pain relief at all when bathed in green light.
“We fund that cnes are essential fr green light analgesia (痛觉缺失), while rds play a secndary rle,” explained Tang and his clleagues in their published paper. Frm there, they fllwed the path taken by electrical signals frm the eye thrugh the brain.
Bathed in green light, the cnes and rds stimulated a grup f brain cells, which has previusly been linked t the analgesic effects f bright light in general. In this part f the brain, these neurns (神经元) express smething invlved in pain signaling. These cells then relay the message t anther part f the brain that deals with pain, effectively turning dwn the sensatin f severe pain.
Pain relief in animals is a far cry frm humans, but this study succeeds in lcating pain circuits in the brain that respnd t visual inputs and expands ur understanding f a safe, easy way t pssibly relieve them.
    12. What can we learn abut the new study frm paragraph 2?
    A. It’s the first f its kind.
    B. It’s perfrmed n different animals.

故填a。

分析可知,“___6___ imprves the sil, the seed and the technique in agriculture”为修饰“Da’an Mdel”的非限制性定语从句,先行词指物,关系词在从句中作主语,用关系代词which引导从句。故填which。
故填has been transfrmed。
