The technique invlves electrifying the skin. “Lng-standing wunds make up a severe prblem that we d nt hear very much abut,” says Assciate Prfessr Maria Asplund frm Chalmers University f Technlgy, wh headed the prject. “We have nw fund a methd that can make wunds heal up t three times faster, which culd be a game change r fr elderly peple and diabetics, wh ften have wunds that cannt heal.”
T test this, the Chalmers researchers made a kind f bichip (生物芯片) n which they grew skin cells. They then made small wunds in the artificial skin and tested hw fast the wund healing happened when they either passed electricity thrugh the chip r did nt.
