本课的学习内容是Checkut time和Fun time,考虑到Checkut time第二部分是一封有关助人为乐故事的电子邮件、Fun time又是老鼠帮助狮子的故事,因此将Checkut time第一部分也串成故事来教授,由最后女生跌倒受伤引出“助人”的主题,既操练了副词,也提高了文本的整体阅读性,让学生在语境中学习。
Checkut time的Think and write是一封电子邮件,本课在处理这部分内容时采用了先阅读、再谈论、再动笔、最后总结动词过去式的顺序,即,通过三个问题帮助学生把握文本大意,通过问题用一般过去时态谈论事情、巩固复习时态,然后学生落笔填空。在完成填空后,学生说说班级内的好人好事,在轻松的氛围内用聊天的形式进行语言操练,升华本课“助人”的主题。
Fun time是Stry time的表演版,为了将副词运用起来,教师特增设了“旁白”,让学生用一般过去时描述当事人说话的语气,指导学生如何表演。然后学生在组内合作,共同完成表演任务。本环节还特意提供了表演评分标准,提前告知学生需要表演到什么程度,为评价提供可衡量的标准。
