    Bad luck and pr timing left Kart and three climbers stuck n Munt Rainier fr several lng days. They faced muntain climbing’s tughest tests. One man suffered altitude sickness; ice and rckfall rained dwn at night; cld nights in a tent that gt trn left them hypthermic(体温过低的). Calm cnfidence, skill and the curage t cntinue up the rute, despite illness and injury, likely saved their lives.

    By Sunday evening, the ill climber was exhausted, and they had t make an unplanned camp n steep snw. They were in a bad place—n a platfrm abut the size f a table under an ice cliff. The wind gt strnger during the night, ripping the tent and snapping the ples. They tried t secure it by placing their packs and rcks arund the edges. Finally, they just stuck their feet between the rcks and held the tent with their bdies. It was a cld night.
