    Since graduating frm middle schl, this year's new 9th-grade class is adapting t(适应)the challenges f high schl, a difficult prcess(过程)fr many students. Sme f the challenges the students must get used t are the increasing difficulty f schlwrk, the amunt f hmewrk, and the change in the grading system amngst ther things.
    "It`s a bit harder than middle schl, but that is t be expected frm every nging year," David palacis, 9th-grade student, said.
    Adaptatin is als influenced by stries the freshmen hear befre entering. These stries create a negative(消极的)idea f high schl, as they are usually bad stries abut classes, teachers, r ther tpics.
    "Stries I've heard f high schl are exaggerated(夸张)," Palacis said.
    The schl is fighting against student fear by prviding infrmatin abut high schl, even befre they enter. This year, the 9th-grade class entered schl n August 8, ne day earlier than ther high schl students. This was dne t help the freshmen by slving any dubts they culd have.
    "In general, they adapt well, because since middle schl they have been given sme infrmatin n what high schl is," Ana Isabel Garcia, high schl advisr, said.
    The changes faced in 9th grade are mre challenging than thse fund in middle schl. Hwever after experiencing the first tw mnths f 9th grade, many 9th graders agree that 9th grade is nt as hard as they thught it wuld be.
    "It's nt that different frm middle schl," Palacis said.
    High schl is harder than ther grades as it's the final step students take befre they enter the real wrld. Students must see the imprtant rle high schl plays as it teaches them many skills that will help them imprve their future.
    "They d well because they cme in with a gd attitude(态度)and wish t adapt well," Garcia said.

    Thein Shwe admits he finds it difficult t supprt his family wrking as a vlunteer. But Thein Shwe talks mre abut the successes and difficulties he has faced keeping his students in class. He says ver the fur years, abut 80% f the students cntinue n t the gvernment schl r vcatinal(职业的) training.
    When Thein Shwe is asked abut his main success as a teacher, he needs n time t think. "It's being able t keep the prest children in schl," he says.
