An academic society has advised the producers of a popular movie to apologize for factual mistakes in the film to avoid misleading viewers and hurting the feelings of people from where the historical events took place.
The Luoyang Society of Sui and Tang Studies said in a statement via social media that the animated movie Chang An, which describes historical and political events and famous poets during the Tang Dynasty(618-907), has several key areas that are very different from historical events.
According to the society, the first meeting of Li Bai and Du Fu, two famous poets in China's history, took place in the year 744 in Luoyang, not in Chang'an, or present-day Xi'an, Shaanxi province, which the movie says. Du also grew up in Luoyang, not in Chang'an as the movie claims.
The movie has a scene called "Three Greats within a Day", which depicts the meeting of a painter, a swordsman and a calligrapher who each give their own exceptional performance. However, the society said that the incident actually took place at a temple in Luoyang, not in Chang'an.
The film has been especially popular with teenagers, and many of them like to recite verses from the poetry-filled movie.
The society said it has hired a legal firm to send a lawyer's letter to the director and the production company,urging them to correct the mistakes and apologize .
Hu Zhongxing, a retired professor from Fudan University said that Li and Du's meeting was a major historical and cultural event, and changing the location of the event is "not proper".

Luckin Coffee has joined forces with Kweichow Moutai, the maker of China's fiery national liquor baijiu, for an unusual offering; alcoholic lattes(拿铁).
The popular Chinese coffee chain rolled out the so-called "sauce-flavored latte" with a jolt of liquor for 38 yuan ($5.20) on Monday. Customers who order with an online coupon will be able to receive 50% off for a limited time, it said.

Last year in early summer, I was walking up the hill to my house when I saw two birds, each about 60 centimetres tall, standing on the path. They didn't seem to notice me until I was right in front of them and then they at once moved quickly into the bushes.
I was quite excited by the idea of two birds making a nest (巢) in my front yard, although I didn't really expect them to because wild birds don't usually nest so close. A few weeks later, the birds appeared again. I found them crouching beside a tree off to the side of the path. As I moved nearer to them, I imagined that they would run away like they did last time. I didn't know why they were croaking at me until a short time later I made an amazing discovery: they had two small baby birds.

An academic society has advised the producers of a popular movie to apologize for factual mistakes in the film to avoid misleading viewers and hurting the feelings of people from where the historical events took place.
The Luoyang Society of Sui and Tang Studies said in a statement via social media that the animated movie Chang An, which describes historical and political events and famous poets during the Tang Dynasty(618-907), has several key areas that are very different from historical events.
According to the society, the first meeting of Li Bai and Du Fu, two famous poets in China's history, took place in the year 744 in Luoyang, not in Chang'an, or present-day Xi'an, Shaanxi province, which the movie says. Du also grew up in Luoyang, not in Chang'an as the movie claims.
The movie has a scene called "Three Greats within a Day", which depicts the meeting of a painter, a swordsman and a calligrapher who each give their own exceptional performance. However, the society said that the incident actually took place at a temple in Luoyang, not in Chang'an.
The film has been especially popular with teenagers, and many of them like to recite verses from the poetry-filled movie.

Luckin Coffee has joined forces with Kweichow Moutai, the maker of China's fiery national liquor baijiu, for an unusual offering; alcoholic lattes(拿铁).

Last year in early summer, I was walking up the hill to my house when I saw two birds, each about 60 centimetres tall, standing on the path. They didn't seem to notice me until I was right in front of them and then they at once moved quickly into the bushes.
