【Learner Analysis】
Students in this class are high schl English learners with an intermediate level f English prficiency. They have sme experience with writing letters, but may struggle with rganizing their ideas and expressing themselves clearly in writing. Sme students may benefit frm additinal supprt with grammar and vcabulary, while thers may need mre guidance with rganizing their thughts and develping a cherent argument.
【Teaching Prcedures】
Intrductin (5 minutes)
Begin by asking students if they have ever received r given advice. Encurage them t share their experiences and pinins abut advice-giving.
Intrduce the tpic f writing a letter f advice and explain that they will be learning hw t write a clear, cncise, and persuasive letter that ffers effective advice. Preview the key vcabulary related t advice-giving (e.g., prblem, slutin, recmmendatin, justificatin).
Mdeling and Guided Practice (10 minutes)
Prvide students with a sample letter f advice and ask them t read it carefully. Ask them t identify the key elements f the letter (e.g., prblem, slutin, recmmendatin, justificatin) and discuss hw the writer effectively presents their advice.
Ask students t wrk in pairs t discuss a prblem that they r smene they knw is facing. Encurage them t brainstrm pssible slutins and recmmendatins, and t think abut hw they wuld justify their advice. Have each pair share their prblem and prpsed advice with the class.
Independent Writing (20 minutes)
Assign students a prblem t write abut and ask them t write a letter f advice in respnse. Encurage them t use the key elements identified earlier (prblem, slutin, recmmendatin, justificatin) and t write clearly, cncisely, and persuasively. Prvide guidance n grammar, vcabulary, and rganizatin as needed.
Circulate arund the classrm t ffer individual supprt and feedback as students write. Encurage students t ask questins and seek clarificatin as needed.
Peer Review and Feedback (10 minutes)
Ask students t exchange their letters with a partner and review each ther's wrk. Encurage them t prvide cnstructive feedback n grammar, vcabulary, rganizatin, and clarity. Have students discuss their feedback with their partner and make revisins as needed.
Circulate arund the classrm t ffer additinal feedback and guidance as needed. Encurage students t ask questins and seek clarificatin as needed.
Class Discussin and Analysis (10 minutes)
Ask students t share their revised letters with the class and discuss the effectiveness f their advice. Encurage them t identify the key elements f a successful letter f advice (e.g., clear prblem statement, practical slutins, well-justified recmmendatins) and t reflect n hw they can imprve their wn advice-giving skills.
Summarize the key pints cvered in the lessn and emphasize the imprtance f writing clear, cncise, and persuasive letters f advice that ffer effective slutins t real-wrld prblems. Encurage students t cntinue practicing their advice-giving skills in future writing assignments and real-life situatins.

Peer Review: Assess students' ability t prvide cnstructive feedback n their peers' writing by evaluating their peer review cmments. Cnsider the clarity, specificity, and helpfulness f their feedback.
Revised Letter: Assess students' ability t revise and edit their letters fr clarity, cherence, and persuasiveness. Cnsider the effectiveness f their prblem statement, slutins, recmmendatins, and justificatins. Prvide feedback n grammar, vcabulary, and rganizatin as needed.
