Step 1 Warm-up

Show some pictures,let students fill in the blanks,review the words:near,next to,in front of,behind,between

Step 2 Presentation&Practice

1.       Show some pictures,let students talk about where are they ? with the help of the pictures,learn the new words:science museum,post office,bookstore,cinema,hospital
2.       Teach students spelling the words,help students to read the words correctly.
3.       Ask students a question:”Where is the bookstore?” Show a map,help students to answer “It’s near the cinema.”
4.       Help students to understand the sentence “Where is...?””It’s...”
5.       Make a map and talk:Let students fill in the blanks of the map
6.       Show Sarah and Chen Jie,and say,Sarah and Chen Jie are talking about something.Let’s have a look.Show the sentences,review”There be”sentence
7.         Let students talk by themselves

Step 3 Consolidation&Extension

1.     Read the words and phrases of “Let’s learn”
2.     Show a map,make sentences                             There is a map of our city for you,please talk about these places,use the sentences”There is/are... in our city.”Where is...?””It’s ...”

Step 4 Summary&Homework

Summary:

Words and phrases:science museum,hospital,cinema

post office,bookstore

Sentences:-Where is the cinema?  -It’s near the park.

-There is a pet hospital in my city.

Homework:

Copy the words or phrases.Recite the words and sentences
