教学目标	By the end of this section, students will be able to: 1. read and sort out the detailed information about Ireland; 2. analyze the structure and language features of the text; 3. write about a place by describing different senses; 4. cooperate with group mates actively through checking their passages together.
教学主题	该板块的主题是“描述喜欢的地方”（Describe a place that you like）。该板块从个旅行者的角度，描绘爱尔兰乡村的美丽景色和风土人情。爱尔兰乡村以景色优美清新、颇具历史文化特色而著称，这段描写与前面对英国伦敦等城市的历史文化景点介绍相得益彰，较为完整地刻画出将历史与现代、城市与乡村和谐地融为一体的欧洲文化特色。在随后的写作活动中，学生通过描写自己熟悉的、有趣的、令人兴奋或惊讶的地点，反思和探索国内，尤其是身边景点的历史文化价值，挖掘并了解其相关历史文化传统，同时表达自己的感受和情感。
教学重点	1. 引导学生阅读博客文章并获取有关爱尔兰的事实性信息； 2. 引导学生分析该文章的结构和语言特点。
教学难点	1. 引导学生运用所学知识，描写一个自己喜欢的地方； 2. 引导学生通过协作交流，相互学习，培养学生的合作精神。
教学内容与过程	Lead-in 结合图片，让学生谈谈自己对爱尔兰的了解，导入今天的话题。  What can you see in this picture? How do you feel?  What else do you know about Ireland? Step 1 Pre-writing 让学生快速阅读文章，概括文章大意，并梳理文章的脉络结构。让学生再读文章，完成P44活动1，回答相关问题。  What makes the Irish countryside exciting and inspiring?  What are the best ways to experience some Irish traditions and culture?  What are the senses mentioned in the text? 让学生完成P44活动2中的2和3，找出文章中从感官角度描写景物的位置和用词。让学生结合文章内容思考P44活动1中的最后两个问题，深入理解文章。  What is the meaning of “breathe in the sweet scent of fresh flowers while birds greet the new day with their morning song”? What rhetorical device (修辞手法) does the writer use?  What are the best ways to experience Chinese traditions and customs? Step 2 While-writing 让学生完成P45活动3中的1，选择一个喜欢的地方，并向同伴说说喜欢该地的理由。让学生完成P45活动3中的2，结合所提供的问题，描述所选择的地方。让学生完成P45活动3中的3，基于表格所提供的信息，组织好自己的语言，写初稿。 Step 3 Post-writing 自改。检查自己所写文章的每部分内容是否符合要求。同伴互改。参照P45活动4所提供的清单，给同伴提出修改意见，并按照同伴提出的修改建议对自己的初稿进行修改。作品展示。老师在班级张贴学生的作品，让学生欣赏和比较彼此的文章。 Step 4 Homework Polish up your passage based on teacher’s and classmates’ suggestions.					备注
