    Unit 3 How do you get to school? Section A Period One教学设计

    Teaching aims:

    1. Vocabulary

       train, bus, subway, bike, car, boat, walk, take the train/bus, by bike/subway, ride a bike

    2. Target language:

    How do you get to school?     I ride my bike.

                                       I get to school by bike.

    How does Mary get to school?       She takes the subway/

                                       She gets to school by subway. 

    3. Talk about how to get to places

    Teaching key points and difficulties:

    How do you get to school?     I ride my bike.

                                       I get to school by bike.

    How does Mary get to school?       She takes the subway/

                                       She gets to school by subway. 

    Skill aim :

     Listening and speaking skills.

    Teaching course:

    Step 1: Warming-up and Lead in. 

    1. Greet.

    2. Let’s watch a flash. What can you see? Some kinds of transportation.

    Step 2: Presentation 1 

    1. New words about transportation tools: train, bus, subway, bike,  

    T: Listen to the sounds, what transportation?

    Add more words about transportation.

    3. Ss Read the new words.

    4. Ask and answer: How do you get to school? --- I take/ride theto school.

    Step 3: Work on 1a.

    1. First ask students to look at the picture. And read the sample sentences to them.

    Ask them to repeat.

    4. Check the answers likeHe/She takes/ ridesto school.

    Step 4: work on 1b.

    1. tell Ss to listen to a recording. Two people are talking about some Ss get to school.

    2. Point out the names of the Ss in the box. Read the names to the class.

    3. T: Now listen to the conversation. Please write the number of the name in the white box next to the student. One of them has already been done.

    4. Then play the recording. Ask the Ss to write the number of the name next to the correct Ss.

    5. Ask Ss to complete the activity individually.

    6. Then check the answers.

    Step 5: Work on 1c.

    1. Ask the Ss to read the dialogue in the speech bubbles to the class.

    2. Have Ss work with a partner. Let them make their own conversation about how the people in the picture get to school.

    3. Ask the Ss to work in pairs. Ask and answer how Ss get to school in the picture.

    4. As they talk, move around the room, offering language or pronunciation support if needed.

    5. Ask some pairs of the Ss to present their conversation to the class.

    Step 6 presentation 2 .

    1. Watch a video: Do you know the answers

    I take the bus to school.=___________________________.

    I take the car to school. =___________________________.

    I ride my bike to school. =___________________________.

    2. ExplainHow do you get to school?

     I walk /ride my bike /take the bus/take the subway/take the train to school.

    =I get to school on foot /by bike./by bus./by subway./by train..

    Step 7 Pair work.

    1. Model:

    A: How do you get to school ? B: I get to school by/on...

    2. Students work.

    Step 8 Pair work.

    1. Model:

    A: How does your mother go to work?

    B: She rides a bike to work./She goes to work by bike.

    A: How does your sister get to school?

    B:She gets to school on foot ./She walks to school

    A: How does Jim get to school?

    B: He takes the subway to school. /He gets to school by subway.

    Students work.
