Dear Alice,
Thanks for your message. Yes, I’m having 45 great time on my student exchange program in France. I was a bit nervous before 46 arrived here, but there was no need to be. My host family is really nice. They try to make me feel at home. The grandmother knows that I miss Chinese food a lot. So she actually learned 47 ! She also has a teenage grand-daughter about my age who is really kind. She always talks to me in French 48 me practice. You wouldn’t believe how 49 my French has improved. Although I still make lots of 50 , it doesn’t worry me as it used to.
My 51 problem of all is learning how to act at the dinner table. As you can imagine, things are very different 52 the way they are at home. For example, you shouldn’t put your elbows on the table. If you don’t want any more food, you should just say, “That was delicious.” I have to say that I find it difficult to remember everything, 54 I’m getting used to it. I don’t find French customs so strange any more.
Best wishes.
Yours,
Lin Hui

“The grass looks greener on the other side of the fence (栅栏).” That’s an old saying in English. It means that other places often look better, more interesting than the place where you live. Some people worry that young Chinese are beginning to feel that way. They see young Chinese ignoring (忽视) Chinese culture (文化) , instead, buying Japanese cartoon books, watching Korean soap operas and even celebrating western holidays.
Foreign books and soap operas are good, but Chinese writers and actors are just as good. As for holidays, Christmas is nice, but it can never have the meaning for Chinese that Spring Festival has, and the West has nothing to compare with Mid-autumn Festival. And let’s not forget the part of Chinese culture I like best: its friendliness. Not all countries are as warm as China.
It’s good to enjoy other cultures and to learn from them, but they can never replace your own culture. It’s good to look on the other side of the fence, but make sure you take a good long look. You will find that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence.
65.The Spring Festival is more meaningful for Chinese people.
66.The saying means the place where you live looks better than other places.
67.Foreign culture can’t replace Chinese culture.
68.This passage mentioned (提及) three Chinese festivals.
When people go to England, they must learn something about transportation(交通工具)there.

In London, visitors(游客)should learn to use buses and the subway. First of all, they must know which direction(方向)they are going to(要去)and which bus and which subway train they must take. At the bus stop they wait for buses to come. When they get on the bus, they must buy tickets(票).
根据短文内容,判断正(A)误(B)。

What is the meaning of a kiss? That depends on where you are. A kiss means “I love you” in many countries, but not everywhere. In some countries, a kiss can be a friendly greeting, or a goodbye. South Americans and Europeans say hello with kisses much more often than North Americans. They also sometimes say goodbye by kissing their own fingertips and “then blowing” the kiss away. In these areas, men at business meetings might even greet each other with a kiss on the cheek, instead of a handshake. Most North Americans would consider this very strange.
Then it is believed that kissing has a special meaning. In ancient Rome, a kiss was seen as a legal agreement. That’s why the new couple at a wedding must kiss each other. And did your mother ever kiss your wounded finger to make the pain stop? That custom comes from England. People there used to think that kisses had magical powers.
Not everyone in the world kisses though. In past centuries, European explorers found many places where kissing was never seen. For example, Eskimo couples rubbed their noses together instead of touching lips, and so did some African tribes and Pacific Islanders. The Ainu of Japan preferred to bite their loved one’s cheek.
These days, kissing is mostly a sign of romance. Thanks to international travel and sharing customs, that meaning has become general.

Traditionally, baby boys are dressed in blue and baby girls are dressed in pink. We are taught this as children.
But as you grow up, this idea doesn’t mean much anymore. Take me, for example. I often wear pink or purple shirts. In fact, I’m wearing a pink shirt while I write this story!
While children might make fun of a boy wearing a pink shirt, I believe there really are no rules about what colors a man or woman can wear. That’s how it is in Australia and I’ve found it to be the case in China as well.
Yes, many men wear plain or even boring clothes in China. But there are many more who are quite happy to wear lots of creative things. Some men in China and Australia pay as much attention to their appearance as women. And in China, I always see men taking selfies (自拍) and posing for photos, just like girls do.
But if you think the idea of boys wearing pink is something new, think again. It isn’t original at all. Kassia St Clair, the writer of The Secret Lives of Color, said it was very different in the 19th century. She explains that pink was a color worn by men in the military (军队). Blue, she says, was the color for girls.
Somehow, over the following 100 years, this got switched (转变) around. But whatever the story is today, don’t let it stop you from wearing whatever color you want!

C.boys cannot wear colorful clothes
D.people can wear whatever colors they like
91.Paragraph 5 explains that ______.
A.girls used to wear pink clothes
B.boys wore pink clothes in the past
C.popular colors have changed over time
D.boys used to wear blue clothes
92.What’s the writer’s opinion? ______
A.There are no rules for what colors we should wear.
B.It’s uncommon for boys to wear pink clothes.
C.Men should act differently from women.
D.The difference between boys and girls is important.

Too many people want others to be their friends, but they don’t give friendship back. That is why some friendships don’t last very long. To have a friend, you must learn to be one. You must learn to treat your friend the way you want your friend to treat you. Learning to be a good friend means learning three rules: be honest, be generous (慷慨的), be understanding.
Honesty is where a good friendship starts. Friends must be able to trust one another. If you don’t tell the truth, people usually find out. If a friend finds out that you haven’t been honest, you may lose your friend.
Generosity means sharing and making a friendship grow. You don’t have to give your lunch money or your clothes, of course. Instead you have to learn how to share things you enjoy, like your hobbies and your interests. Naturally you will want to share your ideas and feelings. These can be very valuable to a friend. They tell your friend what is important to you. By sharing them you help your friend know you better.
Sooner or later everyone needs understanding and help with a problem. Something may go wrong at school. Talking about the problem is helpful. Turning to a friend can be a first step in solving the problem. So to be a friend, you must listen and understand. You must try to put yourself in your friend’s place so you can understand the problem better.
No two friendships are ever exactly alike. But all true friendships have three things in common. If you plan to keep your friends, you must follow them.

People have a traditional family dinner together. Children get hongbao which means lucky money. You’d better not have your hair cut during the Spring Festival month.
I am looking forward to seeing you soon. I hope you like China very much.

六、阅读判断
读下面的文章,然后回答文章后面的问题,正确的答案写T,错误的答案写F。
In England, cars, buses and bikes must keep to the left side(左边)of the street. If a man wants to cross(穿过)a street, he must stop and either look at the traffic lights(交通灯)or look both ways down the street. And instead of(代替)looking left(左)first as we do in China, they look right(右)first.
69.In England, people go along the left side of the road as we do in China. _____
70.When they want to cross a street, people in England look right first. _____
71.In London, visitors should learn to drive. _____
72.First of all, visitors must know where to go. _____

①Dragons exist in both the Eastern and Western world. Some people say that there used to be real dragons, but most agree that they were imaginary creatures*.
②Chinese dragons, which appeared eight thousand years ago, are usually considered to be kind. People say that they bring strength, peace, good luck, and health. In ancient China, the dragon was a symbol of the Chinese emperors. Some Chinese people believe that dragons live under water most of the time. Unlike European dragons, they do not have wings and fly using magic. The Chinese dragon, sometimes called the Eastern dragon, looks like a long snake with four claws. Its appearance has kept changing with time and it’s hard to find a creature in real life that looks exactly the same as the dragon. In the Chinese zodiac, people born in the “Year of the Dragon” are said to be lucky, brave, healthy, energetic and excitable. The Dragon person can make great achievements in life if he or she knows how to make the best use of his or her huge energy, intelligence and talent.

91.Paragraph 5 explains that ______.
A.girls used to wear pink clothes
B.boys wore pink clothes in the past
C.popular colors have changed over time
D.boys used to wear blue clothes

Third, on birthdays we usually have a birthday cake and get presents. We should accept presents with both hands. Besides, Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. People have a traditional family dinner together. Children get hongbao which means lucky money. You’d better not have your hair cut during the Spring Festival month.
I am looking forward to seeing you soon. I hope you like China very much.

That could be a box of chocolate or some flowers. A little gift is a nice way to show your friend that you are excited to be at his house. Third, you’d better practise using chopsticks or tell your friend you need a knife and fork. Finally, don’t talk with a full mouth or point at others with the chopsticks.
Best wishes!
