一、教材分析
本册教材是外研社版新标准英语(一年级起点)三年级下册。本课内容是第八模块第一单元He works hard. 本节课的话题及语言功能是描述他人的性格特点和学习表现。内容是在家长日这一天,Daming的父母到学校与老师就Daming在学校的表现情况进行了交流,他们对Daming很满意。学生通过Daming的父母在家长日与Ms Smart交流的情境,学习句型Is he naughty? Yes, he is. No, he isn’t. He works hard.等,询问及回答,并描述他人的性格特点及在学校的表现的语句。本课是Module 1知识的延伸,拓展了许多形容词,为学生更加丰富地描述具有特点的人物奠定了基础。另外本课在语言上还要复习巩固“be”动词的用法,为下一模块学习一般过去式“was,were”做准备。本课的内容及语法点是本册书、甚至是本学段学生须重点掌握并灵活运用的部分,是今后学习用一般过去式描述人或物的特点的基础。
二、学情分析
三年级学生有意注意时间较低段有所增长,他们对新奇的事物有较强的好奇心,乐于设计并参加各类活动,所以对本课的话题会有深厚的学习兴趣。学生在本册书第一、二模块中已经学习,并能运用简单的形容词及相应的句型描述人或物的特征,但词汇量相对有限,限制了学生更为贴切的表达。另外,对于本课“He works hard. His work is good.”中 “work”一词的用法,学生容易混淆。教师将利用教材及绘本拓宽学生的思维;丰富学生的词汇,让学生从词性及意思的角度辨别并正确使用单词;巩固学生对句型结构的掌握;同时增加德育渗透点,通过听力及阅读材料,让学生感悟事物的不断变化,并尝试以发展的眼光审视同伴,善于发现他人身上的闪光点并取长补短,让学生在教师创设情境中完成的任务,启发学生去体验、去探究,充分发挥创造力,以促进语用目标的达成。
三、教学目标
1. 语言知识目标
(1)功能:描述他人的性格特点和学习表现等。
(2)语法:能理解并运用含有be动词的陈述句、疑问句及答语。描述他人表现的句子。
如:He isn’ t lazy. Is Daming naughty in class? No, he isn’ t.
He works hard. His work is good.
(3)词汇:能理解并运用:hard, lazy, parent, Parents’ Day, speak, with
(4)语音:感知学习单词发音中的元音及课文句子的语调。
2. 语言技能目标
(1)听:能在图片和具体语境下听懂课文的主要内容,能够听懂描述人物性格特点以及学习表现的句子并作出反应。
(2)说:能够借助图片描述课文主要内容,能够说出描述人物性格特点以及学习表现的句子。
能运用 “Is he/ she…? Yes, he/she is. No, he/ she isn’t.” 与人交流有关他人的特点。
(3)读:能借助图片、单词卡及语境认读hard, lazy, parent, Parents’ Day, speak, with;能准确、流利地朗读课文。
(4)写:能拼写hard, lazy, parent, Parents’ Day, speak, with。
3. 情感态度目标
乐于参与各种课堂学习活动,愿意观察周围朋友的特点与学习状况,善于发现他人的闪光点,取长补短。
4. 学习策略
以任务为牵引,能够通过自主预习、集体讨论、归纳总结所学知识,能够积极尝试使用英语进行自评及他评,不断地用语言去做事情。
5. 文化意识
对一般的赞扬、请求、道歉等能做出适当的反应,从教材的语篇和外选绘本中了解更多的中西方小学生在学校中的不同表现,从而不断增强个人的跨文化交际意识。
四、教学重、难点
1. 重点
能够在老师的帮助下理解课文,掌握并运用所学单词和目标语句围绕话题进行简短的描述。
2. 难点
(1)单词及目标语句描述并交流他人的性格特征及在学校的表现;
(2)work一词的不同用法。

(一)复习导入Warm-up and lead-in(4.5分钟)
操作方式:1. Greeting.
2. Play a game. (Beat the hamsters, to review some adjectives: shy, quiet, clever, naughty, helpful…)
T: What’s Maomao/ Xiaoyong/ Parrot like?
Ss: She/ He is….
3. Lead-in. (Part One)
T: What’s Kitty like?
Ss: Kitty is very lazy.
T: Kitty is lazy, so she doesn’t work hard.
T: Are you lazy?
S: No, I’m not.
T: I’m happy with you. He/ She isn’t lazy. So we can say…?
Ss: He/ She works hard.
T: Our friend Daming is a good boy, too. He works hard.
T: Let’s learn M8U1 He works hard.
【设计意图】以游戏的形式复习旧知,学生通过互动能迅速进入英语学习状态,并对本节课的话题有所感知;谈话中设置小情境,将本课的部分新授单词提前处理,为课文的理解扫清障碍;与此同时,自然地呈现比赛及奖励机制,调动学生学习的积极性,并导入本课的课题。
(二)任务呈现Task presentation(0.5分钟)
操作方式:Know about how Daming behaves at school.
Recommend your model to be the superstar of our class.
【设计意图】结合主题,让学生了解本节课要学习的内容,并为学生创设较为真实的任务情境,带着任务学习新课。
(三)课文学习Text learning(13分钟)
操作方式:1. Watch and find out:
(1) T: Who are they? Can you guess?
Ss: They are Daming’s parents.
T: They want to know how Daming behaves at school.
T: Let’ s watch and find out: What day is it today?
What are Daming’ s parents going to do?
2. Repeat and find out:
T: What is Daming like?
(1) Read after the audio.
(2) Answer the questions.
① What’ s Daming like? (Summarize Daming’ s personality through a chant.)
Ss: Daming isn’t naughty in class.

(四)训练巩固 Practice(14分钟)
操作方式:1. Listen, judge, ask and answer. (Lucky wheel)
(1) T: Daming has got a model in his class. She is Fangfang. Let’s listen and judge.
(2) T: Check the answer.
(3) Ask and answer.
