As a result, you may be faced with biological, chemical or physical hazards.
Safety is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing. The following safety rules have been developed for the protection and safety of everyone.

★Do not enter or work in the laboratory unless an instructor is present.
★Never enter areas where chemicals are kept.
★Taking any chemicals or equipment away from the classroom or laboratory is not allowed.
The safety rules must be followed at all times. Review these rules with your teacher and parents, then sign and get the signature (签名) of a parent. The signature shows that you understand the lab can be dangerous, and that you have read the rules and agree to follow them at all times. Signatures are needed before you can go on with any lab or science classroom activity.

The number of weather-related disasters has increased by five times over the past 50 years, the latest report by the World Meteorological (气象) Organization (WMO) said on September 1st. However, thanks to improved early warning systems and disaster management, the number of death from these hazards (危险) has been almost three times less.
According to the WMO, from 1970 to 2019, weather, climate and water hazards accounted for 50 percent of all disasters. Among the top 10 hazards that led to the largest loss of human life during this period were droughts, storms, floods and extreme temperatures. However, deaths fell from over 50,000 in the 1970s to less than 20,000 in the 2010s.
“Weather, climate and water extremes are increasing and will become more frequent and severe in many parts of the world as a result of climate change,” says WMO Secretary-General Petteri Taalas.
“That means more heatwaves, drought and forest fires such as those we have observed recently in Europe and North America. We have more water vapor in the atmosphere, which is worsening extreme rainfall and deadly flooding. The warming of the oceans has affected the frequency and area of existence of the most intense tropical storms. ”
“Economic losses are increasing as exposure increases. But behind the statistics lies a message of hope. Improved multi-hazard early warning systems have led to a significant reduction in deaths. Quite simply, we are better than ever before at saving lives,” Taalas said.

On June 1st, all the students gathered at the school gate, and then we went to the former residence of Zuo Zongtang by bus, where we learned some achievements of him. After his 60s, he set up a shipping bureau in Fujian. Especially disregarding the age of 65, he led his army to the west, regained Xinjiang, and established a province in Xinjiang.

第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
47. 阅读下面材料,根据所给情节和所给两段每段的开头语进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事情节。所续写短文的词数应为150左右
New Year was just around the corner. I was second grade then, 7 years old. One day, on my way home from school, a lady gave me a piece of paper saying that the neighborhood was asking people to give New Year presents to those who needed them. When I got home, I showed my mother the paper and said that I wanted to take part in this plan. My mother thought this was a very good idea and encouraged me to spread kindness to others less fortunate than us. She said we would become “Neighborhood Angels (天使)”.
Several days later, my mother said, “Get ready, and we will go.” “Where are we going?” I asked my mother. “I will drive you to Boots Department Store to buy something you think would be suitable for a neighborhood present.”, she replied. As we went into the store, my mother gave me £20 to pay for the present. Then she said, “I’ll see you outside in the car.” She left me alone to do the shopping. I was not used to buying things on my own, as I had always been with one of my parents before. Everything seemed very strange and confusing to me, but I carried on. I asked myself what I should buy and for whom. An idea quickly occurred to me. There was a poor boy called Ralph who lived in our neighborhood. I used to see him often without a jacket during the freezing winter months, so I decided, then and there, to buy him a warm jacket.I looked at many jackets and eventually chose a heavy blue one. The price was just within my spending limit. The assistant at the checkout asked, “Is this for someone?”, as I paid for the jacket happily. I said it was, and she wished me a Happy New Year. I felt as if I were a real“Neighborhood Angel”.
Paragraph 1:
That evening, my mother helped me pack the jacket in beautiful paper. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 2:
My mother and I waited breathlessly for Ralph’s front door to open and finally it opened. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】Possible version 1:
That evening, my mother helped me pack the jacket in beautiful paper. She wrote “To Ralph, From a person who cares about you” on it, after which she drove me over to Ralph’s house in the neighborhood. My mother parked down the street. I took a deep breath and dashed to his front door. Seeing no other people notice us, I threw the New Year’s present down on his steps, pressed his door bell and then hid in the car.
My mother and I waited breathlessly for Ralph’s front door to open and finally it opened. Out came Ralph. Seeing the jacket, he looked astonished and then called his mother to come out. After hearing them say “Thanks” loudly, I felt very proud of what I had done. At that time I decided to be a good person spreading kindness forever. It was on that night that I realized the truth that he who has no kindness in his heart will never find kindness in someone else.
Possible version 2:
That evening, my mother helped me pack the jacket in beautiful paper. In the package, my mother included a New Year’s card, on which she wrote “Happy New Year to Ralph, From someone who cares about you”. Then we got dressed and headed for his house in the car. On the way, she asked how the idea occurred to me and I told her about Ralph. She was actually amazed at my idea. Soon, we stopped at Ralph’s house and knocked on the door.
My mother and I waited breathlessly for Ralph’s front door to open and finally it opened. Ralph was surprised to see us at the door. My mother explained, “We are ‘Neighborhood Angels’, and we are here to give out New Year’s presents.” Meanwhile, I handed the jacket to him and wished him a Happy New Year. His face lit up and he thanked us over and over again. Seeing the big smile on his face, I made up my mind to be a New Year Angel in the years ahead. As you know, angels are actually in everyone’s heart.
【解析】
【分析】本文以人物为线索展开,讲述了新年来临之际,作者接受了一个倡议:为需要人赠送新年礼物,作者和妈妈来到商店,经过一番思考之后,作者决定给邻居一个男孩买一件夹克。
