Do you always answer the phone when your mum calls, or do you ignore (忽略) it?
You may not be able to do that for much longer. A mother from Houston, USA, Sharon Standifird, was angry because she was unable to get her teenagers to answer the phone. So she did a search online. She didn’t know much about app development but, with some help, she created the app. It’s on sale and it’s called “Ignore No More”.
What does the app do? If you don’t answer your mum’s call, the phone locks. This means that you can’t go onto Facebook, or play games, or text, or call anyone else. The only thing you can do is to call your mum. However, the app allows you to make an emergency (紧急的) phone call.
All your mum or dad has to do is to find your number on their phone, then they type in (输入) a password and your phone is “blocked”—it doesn’t work. You have to call your mum. So what did her son, Bradley, think? He thought the app was a good idea, but he didn’t like the idea that his mum would use it for him!
What do you think? Good idea?

When he was 14, he went on a trip to Holland with his family. Afterwards, he bought some Dutch language books and CDs, and the next time he went he was able to speak to the people there. Have you ever woken up in a bad mood (情绪), but didn’t know why? I know I have— especially if it’s Monday morning and it’s already time to go to school. But why should Monday be worse than any other day? It may be because the weekend I’ve just had was great and the next one seems ages away.
Trying to get to school on time makes me feel stressed too. The bus sometimes doesn’t turn up because of a traffic jam and then I’m late and my teacher is cross—even though it’s not my fault (错误) ! And it isn’t much easier to ride a bike rather than going by bus, because sometimes I find my brakes (车闸) don’t work.
And then of course there’s all the homework. Sometimes each of my teachers gives me something to hand in— all on the same day. What can I do? I just have to cancel all meetings with friends, turn off the TV and promise myself not to look at the internet. It’s hard, but it’s worth it.
So how can I stop my bad moods? Well, maybe I should just start the week, enjoying each day as it comes. Then Monday won’t seem so bad after all. And I could check my bike the night before school or get an earlier bus so that I’m not late. As for homework, I could just do a bit each evening. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? No more bad moods! But how long could I keep it up? I wonder!
66.Why doesn’t the writer like Mondays?
A.She often gets up late. B.She didn’t enjoy her weekend.
C.It’s a long time until the next break. D.It’s unlucky for her to miss the bus.

A.负责的 B.恼怒的 C.严厉的 D.宽容的
68.What does the writer decide to do in the end?
A.Stay in a bad mood. B.Become more organized.
C.Worry less about studies. D.Keep up with all the changes.
69.In which part of the magazine can you find the text?
A.Music. B.Sports. C.News. D.Life.
During their stay at the International Space Station (ISS), astronauts have to live and work in an environment that is very different from that on the Earth. They still need to keep clean, eat well, and keep healthy. However, there is no gravity (重力) at the ISS, so astronauts have to live in a new way. The following explains how astronauts live at the ISS.
Astronauts need to brush their teeth as you do, but there are differences! One kind of toothpaste they use can be eaten after brushing teeth. And astronauts have to brush teeth with their mouths as closed as possible to prevent the toothpaste moving out!
Nutrition (营养) plays an important role in keeping astronauts healthy. So their daily meals are carefully planned and offered. To prevent the food from moving off the plate, the food for them is produced in special ways. And the food has to be specially treated so that it can last for a long time.
Weightlessness leads to health problems such as bone and muscle (肌肉) loss. Weightlessness also makes it harder to do even small tasks. Using the computer can become difficult. Space walks can be tiring and put unusual stress on muscles. These mean that astronauts have to take time to exercise and keep themselves healthy.
70.What is special about astronauts’ activity of brushing teeth?
A.It is the same as we do on the earth.
B.It is finished by eating the toothpaste.
C.It takes astronauts most of their time to do.
D.It needs astronauts to keep their mouths closed.
71.What mainly causes astronauts to exercise and keep healthy?
A.Nutrition. B.Weightlessness. C.Space work. D.Special food.
72.What can be the best title for the text?
A.Life at the ISS B.Gravity on the earth
C.Problems in Space D.Eating in a special way
十、阅读回答问题
阅读下面短文,并用英语回答问题(请注意每小题的词数要求)。
The competition among students today is very strong. In my class, every student is very hard-working. But the funny thing is that they like to make efforts secretly.
Last week, my friend looked very tired. When I went to look through his exercise book, I found that he actually finished more pages than most of us. We had no idea when he wrote it. During a lunch break, while we were in bed, I found that he was secretly doing his homework!
After knowing that, our whole class started to study secretly without telling each other. We all pretended (假装) that we hadn’t done anything but worked hard behind each other’s backs. Although our schoolwork improved, we did not have the same pleasure and satisfaction of learning together as before.
Is it really a good thing to compete in this way? Schoolwork takes up most of our time, but our lives shouldn’t just focus on one thing. We also need love, relaxation and trust in each other. Have you been in a similar situation? What do you think?
