The event is to help people to pay attention to the disappearance of the world's languages; many of them are disappearing each year. UNESCO sees this as a terrible fact. What happens when a language dies out? Something great is lost-not just sounds and marks but the way that people understand the world and communicate with each other. We keep different cultures and traditions through languages. Kill a language and all these are killed too.Through IMLD, more and more people come to realize he terrible situation and try to stop it.Google's 2018 Endangered (濒临灭绝的) Languages Project is a good example. Many speakers and protectors of endangered languages upload (上传) texts, audios and videos to the project website. They want to introduce the way that people communicate and express themselves around the world. The Myaamia Project is the same kind of effort to revive the language spoken by the Miami tribes (部落) of the United States. Project members work to encourage people to study and communicate with this language , which died out in the 1960s.These activities give life to those endangered languages. People who work to keep Languagesalive are not limited to the past. Many young people design apps and use social media to support their activities. They "spread the word " to save the world. So, while the problem of disappearing languages remains a very serious one, there is hope. We all have a special feeling of our mother language. This is why we should remember the wise words of late president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela: "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to a man in his own languagethat goes to his heart."51UNESCO holds IMLD every year in order to help people to _______________.Alearn and use endangered languagesBshow their talents in learning languagesCpractice reading skills of mother languagesDrealize the situation of endangered languages52What did people do in Google's 2018 Endangered Languages Project?ADiscuss how to make good use of Google.BOffer online courses on endangered languages.CShare materials about endangered languages online.DTranslate endangered languages into mother languages.53What does the underlined word "revive" mean in Paragraph ( 段落) 4?A.创造 B.学习 C.复活 D.清除54What can we infer ( 推断) from Paragraph 5?AIt is more difficult to protect endangered languages.BThe disappearance of languages has already stopped.CYoung people don't care about endangered languages.DYoung people have creative ways to protect languages.55The writer mentions Nelson Mandela's words in order to __________________.Atell the importance of one's mother languageBshow his contributions to language protectionCtell the trouble in learning endangered languagesDshow the possibility of protecting mother languages For many years doctors have warned us about the dangers of stress (压力) and have given us advice about how to cut down our stress levels. Everyone agrees that long-term stress, for example having to look after someone who has a long-lasting illness, is bad for our health and should be avoided whenever possible. However, some medical experts now believe that certain kinds of stress may actually be good for us. Dr. Kyriazis, an anti-ageing expert, explains that what he calls “good stress” is helpful to our health and may, in fact, help us stay young and even live longer. Dr. Kyriazis says that “good stress” can strengthen (增强) our natural defenses which protect us from illnesses common among older people, such as Alzheimer’s, arthritis, and heart problems. He believes that “good stress” can increase the production of the proteins (蛋白质) that help to repair the body’s cells (细胞), including brain cells.According to Dr. Kyriazis, running for a bus or having to work to a deadline (截止日期) are examples of “good stress”, that is, situations with short-term, low or middle level stress. The stress usually makes us react (反应) quickly and usefully, and gives us a sense of achievement—we did it! However, in both these situations, the stress does harm to the cells in our body or brain and they start to break down. But then the cell’s own repair system “turns on” and it produces proteins which repair the cells that are harmed and remove harmful chemicals that can slowly cause disease. In fact, the body’s reaction makes the cells stronger than they were before. So next time your boss tells you that she wants to see that report finished and on her desk in 45 minutes, don’t worry, just think of it as “good stress” which will have advantages for your long-term health!56Which of the following is bad for your health?ADoing a research. BTo face a short-time difficult situation.CHaving to work to a deadline. DLooking after sick people for a long time.57Which of the following tells the main idea of Paragraph 2?AWhat “Good stress” is.BHow Dr. Kyriazis becomes so famous.C“Good stress” can help stop us from getting ill.DYoung people suffer more from stress than older people.58The underlined word “remove” means ________ in Chinese.A.重组 B.除去 C.搬运 D.再生59What can we learn from the passage?APeople should avoid getting stressed.BWe’d better try to cut down our stress levels.CSituations that produce bad stress are always short-term.DOur bodies need some stress to exercise our self-repair system.60Which can be the best title for the passage?AGet Stressed, Stay Young BTime to Reduce StressCHealth Always Comes First D“Good Stress” Situations  八、语法填空单词填空The UN Chinese Language Day is celebrated on April 20th, a date around Guyu. What life skills should we teenagers develop? And how? Here is my opinion.    Firstly, managing time is a necessary skill for teenagers. We need to learn how to use our time efficiently. This can be achieved by creating a schedule or to-do list, setting goals and deadlines. Secondly, working with others is another important life skill. We need to learn how to communicate effectively, listen actively, and work with others. This can be practiced through group projects, team sports, and volunteering in the community. Thirdly, keeping healthy is important. We need to learn how to make healthy choices such as eating a balanced diet and getting enough sleep. Lastly, problem-solving is a skill that will benefit us throughout our lives. This can be practiced through puzzles, games, and real-life situations. In addition to the above skills, I believe that learning financial management is also important for teenagers. We need to learn how to budget our money, save for the future, and avoid debt.    In conclusion, developing life skills is important for teenagers to become successful adults. By managing time, working with others, keeping healthy, solving problems and learning financial management, we can prepare ourselves for the challenges of the future.
