In the modern world, pressure is a serious problem. Today, most student are under too much pressure. Some students can’t get on well with their classmates. While others may worry about their tests. Even they can’t get enough and good sleep. I’m always under pressure, too. How can we solve the pressure problems? Here are my suggestions.
The first, tell your pressure to someone. I think a conversation with parents or teachers is necessary to solve the problem. We can talk our problems with our teachers or parents. Chores were not popular at my house. My children didn’t like to do chores. They always saw me do chores, but they hardly ever helped me do them.
A year ago, I made a game called “The Endless Chore Game”. It is really great. Here’s how the game works.
I make a card with forty squares (方框), and I write a different chore on each square. These chores can be easy and interesting like making dessert. Then my family rolls the dice (骰子) to decide what chores we have to do. The card also has a few squares with fun things, like watching TV and singing. If you are lucky, you can watch TV when the others are doing the chores.
My son likes the game very much. He goes to the kitchen happily every morning to do the game. It is really a good way to make my children do chores. You can have a try if you have the same problem with me.

Easter Island is a famous place. It is home to about 900 large stone statues (石头雕像) called Moai. The average (平均的) height of the statues is about 13 feet, but the tallest standing stone statue is 33 feet tall. People living there many years ago made them. There are still many questions about how they were able to make and move such large statues.
Hundreds of stone statues are inside Rapa Nui National Park. Sadly, a fire happened in the park. People worked for many hours to control it. It wasn’t until late the next day that the fire was under control. The park worker said it didn’t have enough people to fight the fire more quickly.
The park workers still work to find out how bad the damage (破坏) is. In fact, the fire damaged some of these famous stone statues. It is said that the stones became bigger because of the fire, and then smaller as they cooled.
People don’t know how the fire started clearly. But the park workers believe the fire didn’t start naturally (自然地). “All the fires on Rapa Nui are from human beings (人类),” one worker said. He believes the island needs more help to be able to deal with (解决) situations like this one.
The stone statues make Easter Island a very popular place. Easter Island had lots of visitors every year before COVID-19 (新冠病毒). People only re-opened the park after it was closed for about two years because of COVID-19. It’s now closed again as scientists try to learn more about the damage because of the fire.

    Dear Sir,
I think it is important for children to learn how to do chores and help their parents with housework. It is not enough to just get good grades at school.
Children these days depend on their parents too much. They are always asking, “Could you get this for me?” or “Could you help me with that?” Doing chores helps to develop children’s independence and teaches them how to look after themselves. It also helps them to understand the idea of fairness. Since they live in one house with their parents, they should know that everyone should do their part in keeping it clean and tidy. Our neighbors’ son got into a good college but during his first year, he had no idea how to take care of himself. As a result, he often fell ill and his grades dropped. The earlier kids learn to be independent, the better it is for their future.
    Mr. Smith
    35.Mr. Smith wrote the letter.
36.The writer thinks it is unimportant for children to learn how to do chores.

In England, people often talk about the weather because they can experience four seasons in one day. In the morning the weather is warm like in spring. An hour later black clouds come, and then it rains hard. In the afternoon the sky will be clear, the sun will begin to shine, and it will be summer at this time of the day.
In England, you can also have summer in winter, or have winter in summer. So in winter you can swim sometimes, and in summer, sometimes you should take warm clothes with you.

A 10-year-old boy decided to learn judo though he had lost his left arm in a car accident. The boy was doing well, so he couldn’t understand why, after three months of training, the master had taught him only one move.
“Master,” the boy finally asked, “shouldn’t I be learning more moves?” “This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you’ll ever need to know,” the teacher answered.
Several months later, the teacher took the boy to his first competition. Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent (对手) became impatient and charged; the boy skillfully used his one move to win the match. At once, the boy used his move to pin (压住) him. The boy won the match and the competition.
On the way home, the boy asked the teacher what was really in his mind. “Why could I win the competition with only one move?” The teacher answered. “First, you’ve mastered one of the most difficult throws in judo. Second, your opponent can only attack your left arm to win you.”

My two little daughters and I usually go out and help others on Thankful Thursday.
Last Thursday we were going to buy lunch for the beggars(乞丐) in the street. Then we went to the nearest McDonald’s.
I ordered 15 lunches from it and drove my car to hand them out. We gave the lunches to the beggars. They were excited. We were happy to see that. Then we noticed a small, old woman, asking for pocket money. We gave her our last lunch bag. Before we got into the car, she started to speak to us, “No one has ever done anything like this for me before,” she said with a smile. “Well, I’m glad that we were the first,” I answered. “So when will you eat your lunch,” I asked. She just looked at me with her big, tired brown eyes and said, “Oh, dear, I’m not going to eat this lunch. You see, I have a little daughter. I usually can’t buy her favorite food, but today she will be so happy!”
I don’t know if the kids noticed the tears in my eyes. I have asked many times whether our actions of kindness were too small to change anything. Yet at that moment, I realized the truth of words: “We can do small things with great love.”

Many countries all over the world have National Parks. There are about 7, 000 National Parks around the world. Most of them protect nature as well as the plants and animals that live there, but a few are in towns and cities.
Are there National Parks in England?
There are nine National Parks in England. The first three were the Peak District, the Lake District and Dartmoor, which were all named as National Parks in 1951. Others followed afterwards, such as the North York Moors in 1952, the New Forest in 2005 and the South Downs in 2010.
Are National Parks in England the same as those in other countries?
Many National Parks cover huge areas of land where nobody lives, but in England most of the countryside within them is useful for farming and other activities. As a result, National Parks in England include places where people live and work, as well as wild and beautiful areas where there is little human life.
Why do visitors go to the National Parks?
There are plenty of activities to do in all of the National Parks in England. Visitors can walk or cycle, following marked routes(路线), and many of the parks organize activities for families.
Are there any problems in the National Parks?
There are about 110 million visitors to the parks every year, bringing many benefits (利益) to the areas but bringing problems too. Many popular towns and villages can be crowded with visitors. This results in overcrowded car parks and roads ①choked with traffic. Life can be difficult for people who live there, ③as more and more gift shops and cafes are opened instead of those everyday shops. In popular areas, house prices can become too high for local people making it hard for them to stay in the area.
Another major problem is rubbish. In the parks ②it is a particular (特别的) danger to animals. Broken glass can also cause fires by focusing the rays of the sun. When these start in wild places, they are much harder to control and can damage (毁坏) large areas very quickly.
    How can people help?
All National Parks in England promote (倡导) the Countryside Code, which tells people how to take care of their environment. If we followed these rules, the National Parks will be protected (被保护) and continue to give pleasure to many people for a long time.
