一、导入

Have a review about the last lesson.

二、目标

1. Have a better understanding of the article.
2. Master the language points,such as oven, plate, cover, serve,temperature etc.
3. Improve reading ability.

1. Students read the passage and try to translate, underline the words or phrases they don’t understand;

四、后教

1. The teacher translate the passage with the students.
2. Explain the important and difficult points.
3. Language points:

(1)  Here is one way to make turkey for a Thanksgiving dinner.

one/ a way to do sth. = one/a way of doing sth.

做某事的一种方法；做某事的一种方式

“做某事的（最）好方式” 的表达：

① the good way to do sth.

② the best way to do sth.

③ the best way of doing sth.

e.g. Listening is one way to learn English.

听是学习英语的一种方法。

I think the best way to learn/ of learning a language is practicing it often.

我认为学习一门语言的最好方法是经常练习。

(2)  First, mix together some bread pieces, onions, salt and pepper.

mix /mɪks/ n. 混合配料 v.（使）混合；融合

mix 作动词，常用短语：

① mix... and...(together)  把……和……混合在一起

② mix... with...  把……和……混合

③ mix up  弄混；混淆

(3) Next, fill the turkey with this bread mix.

fill /fɪl/ v.（使）充满；装满

fill... with... 用……装满……，其被动结构为be filled with，意为“被装满……”，相当于be full of。

e.g. She filled the glass with wine. 她把玻璃杯倒满了红酒。

The box is filled with books.= The box is full of books.

箱子里装满了书。

拓展：fill 对应的形容词为full，意为“满的”。

(4)When it is ready, place the turkey on a large plate and cover it with gravy.

place /pleɪs/ v. 放置 相当于put。

与place 有关的短语：

①a place of interest 名胜

②take place 发生

③take one’s place 代替某人

(5)  serve /sɜː(r)v/ v. 提供；接待；服务

serve 的常用结构：

①serve sb.为某人服务

② serve sb. ( with ) sth.= serve sth. to sb.

   为某人提供某物

③serve as 用作；担任

五、强化记忆

1. Students read the article aloud.
2. Students remember the language points;
