    探究点二:Language points

    1. We used to study and play together all the time, but ever since last Friday.

    used to的意思是过去经常,后加动词原形,它可以用于各种人称之后。它的否定句式和疑问句式可以有两种变化形式:

    否定句:used not to + 动词原形  / didnt use to + 动词原形

    疑问句:Used + 主语 + to + 动词原形?/ Did + 主语 + use to + 动词原形?

    e.g.

    He used to live in this small village.

    He used not to live in this small village

    = He didn’t use to live in this small village.

    Used he to live in this small village?

    =Did he use to live in this small village?

    【拓展】

    used to相似的句式是be used to,它的意思是习惯于,后加名词、代词、动名词作介词宾语,并且它有各种时态的变化。

    e.g.

    She                            the life here.

    她习惯了这里的生活。

    2. I considered all the things that could be wrong, but I still can’t figure out what the problem is.

    consider/kən'sɪdə(r)/ v.认为

    consider后跟宾语从句,意为考虑……”

    e.g.

    She was                       what she should do next.

    她在考虑下一步应该做什么。

    consider doing sth.考虑做某事。

    e.g.

    He first considered                     mebut then he changed his mind.

    开始他考虑来看望我,可后来他改变了主意。

    consider...as...……当成……

    e.g.  He considered himself              a man.

    他把自己当作男子汉。

    3. I considered all the things that could be wrong, but I still can’t figure out what the problem is.

    figure out 弄懂,弄清楚,弄明白

    动副短语,接名词,可放两边;接代词,放中间;也可以接从句

    e.g.

    It is very simple to                           .

    这很好理解。

    4. If neither of these things works, just leave your friend alone.

    leave...alone ……独自留下;不打扰;不碰;不移动

    leave sb. alone相当于leave sb. by oneself “把某人单独留下

    e.g. 

    We don't allow you to                     .

    我们不允许你独自离开。

    【拓展】辨析lonelyalone

    lonely孤独的,寂寞的,强调内心的寂寞和孤独,

     用作定语或表语。

    e.g.

    She felt                    and hopeless.

    她感到孤独绝望。

    alone: “独自的,侧重于单独存在,作形容词时用作表语或后置定语。

    e.g.

    Exercising                  can be boring.

    独自一个人锻炼可能会很无聊。

    5. She may need some time to cool down and think about the situation herself.

    situation作可数名词,意为情况、形势、局面、处境,复数形式是situations

    e.g.

    The                       is under control.

    局面得到了控制。

    6. But even if you’re not friends anymore, you should still be friendly.

    even if 即使,纵然,尽管

    作从属连词,引导让步状语从句,与even though 同义。

    e.g.

    We shouldn't slight anybody                     he's a nobody.

    我们不应该轻视任何人,即使他是一个小人物。

    8. Say hi to her when you pass her in the hallway at school.

    say hi to…意为……打招呼,其中的hi可用hello替换。

    e.g.

    Say               to your father for me.

    代我向你父亲问好。

    say sorry to… ……表示道歉;
