answer和reply均可表示"回答；答复"，但它们的用法不尽相同。

经理太忙了，不能回复那些邮件。
1. 二者都可作动词，当表示"回信；对……作出回答"时，answer后可直接跟宾语，而reply后必须加介词t才能接宾语，即"reply t + 宾语"。
3. 二者都可作名词，指"……的答案或答复"，均与t连用。
