设计说明 由征求去英格兰的建议入手,了解英格兰的下午茶,引入新课的学习。设置不同层次的阅读理解题目,提升学生的阅读理解能力。朗读短文和谈论英格兰的一些习俗,提升学生的口头表达能力;学习新的语言点,继续学习本模块的新语法,增加学生在词汇和语法上的积累。设置关于家乡习俗的写作训练,提升学生的书面表达能力。 教学目标 通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 掌握本单元新单词及短语: experience, stay, someone, for the first time, sandwich, chip, fish and chips, onto, gentleman, shoulder。 2. 能力目标 (1)用正确的语音、语调朗读短文,把握短文的结构和细节信息; (2)进一步练习运用情态动词must, can, need等。 3. 情感目标 通过了解英格兰的风俗习惯,学会尊重其他国家的传统习俗和生活方式。 重点难点 重点:短文的朗读与理解;语言点的学习和运用。 难点:运用所学知识进行相关的书面表达。 教学准备 PPT课件;下午茶的图片,炸鱼和炸薯条的图片,课本活动1的图片;活动2的录音 授课时数 2课时 教学过程 Step 1 Leading in T: Boys and girls, if your friend is going to England, what is your advice? S1: … S2: … … T: Do you know about the afternoon tea in England? S1: … S2: … … Show some pictures to the class and talk about them with the class. Step 2 Warming up Work in pairs. Look at the pictures and talk about what you can see. (Activity 1 on page 90) 1. Show the pictures to the class. 2. Ask them to work in pairs and talk about what they can see in the pictures. Step 3 Fast reading Listen and read. Find out which sentences describe what you can see in the pictures in Activity 1. (Activity 2 on page 90) 1. Play the recording for the students to listen to. 2. Ask them to read the passage and find out the sentences that describe what they can see in the pictures in Activity 1. 3. Ask them to compare answers with their desk partners. 4. Elicit answers from the whole class. Answers: ① One day, we visited some friends and had afternoon tea together. Afternoon tea is not just a drink but a light meal at around 4 pm. In England, you usually drink tea with milk. ② Once I noticed a gentleman touch a young man on the shoulder, smile politely and say, “Excuse me! Are you waiting for this bus? ” Step 4 Careful reading 1. Read the passage and then choose the correct answer. (Activity 3 on page 91) (1) Ask the students to read the sentences and try to complete them from memory. Allow them to read the passage to correct their answers. (2) Check the answers in pairs. Answers: 1 a) 2 b) 3 a) 4 b) 5 a) 2. Read and complete. Ask the students to read the passage again and complete the sentences. Answers: first; first; light; milk; food; shops; fingers; push; wait 3. Read the phrases in the passage and put them into Chinese.

(2) Ask them to read the passage on their own. (3) Encourage some of the students to read the passage. Correct the pronunciation and pause errors. Step 5 Post-reading Write answers to the questions. Use the words and expressions in the box. (Activity 4 on page 91) (1) Get the students to read the questions through and make sure they understand them. (2) Ask the students to write down the answers to the questions on their own. (3) Ask them to compare the answers with their desk partners. (4) Elicit answers from the class. Answers: 1 He noticed something interesting with the English way of life. 2 You must say Mr or Mrs when you meet someone for the first time. 3 Afternoon tea is a light meal and we eat sandwiches and a large fruit cake, and drink tea with milk. 4 We can eat fish and chips in shops on the high street, or we can take it away and eat it with our fingers. 5 They stand in a line and wait their turn. (5) Ask the students to ask and answer the questions in pairs. Step 6 Language points 1. My experiences in England 我在英国的经历 experience此处用作可数名词,意为“经历”。 It will be a wonderful experience to travel through the forest. 穿越这片森林将会是一次很棒的经历。 We learnt a lot from different experiences. 我们从不同的经历中学到了很多知识。 [拓展] (1) experience作不可数名词,意为“经验”。 Miss Liu has over ten years’ teaching experience. 刘老师有十多年的教学经验。 (2) experience作及物动词,意为“经历;体验”。experienced形容词,意为“有经验的;熟练的”。 We stayed in the country and experienced local life there. 我们住在乡下,体验了那里当地的生活。 2. For example, you must say Mr or Mrs when you meet someone for the first time. 例如,初次与某人见面时,你必须称呼先生或太太。 someone不定代词,意为“某人;有人”,相当于somebody,常用于肯定句。someone / somebody作主语时,谓语动词通常用第三人称单数形式。 Someone is knocking on the door. Who is it? 有人在敲门,是谁呢? [拓展] 在否定句或疑问句中,通常用anyone / anybody代替someone / somebody。 Is there anyone in the room? 这个房间里有人吗? We didn’t see anybody around. 我们没有看到周围有人。 4. Once I noticed a gentleman touch a young man on the shoulder…有一次,我看到一位绅士拍了拍一位年轻人的肩膀…… notice sb. do sth. 意为“注意到某人做某事”,省to的动词不定式(短语)作宾语补足语,表示动作发生的全过程或这个动作经常发生。 We all noticed a man follow us. 我们都注意到一个男子跟着我们。 [拓展] notice sb. doing sth. 意为“注意到某人正在做某事”,动词-ing形式作宾语补足语,表示该动作正在进行之中。 I noticed him writing something in his notebook. 我注意到他正在笔记本上写着什么。 Step 7 Writing 1. Answer the questions about ways of life in your home town. (Activity 5 on page 91) (1) Tell the students that there are different ways of life in different places. Elicit some ideas about the ways of life in the students’ home towns. (2) Read the questions with the students. Make sure they have no problem in understanding. (3)Ask them to write down the answers. Allow them to discuss how to answer the questions. (4) Encourage some students to read out what they have written to the class. Possible answers: 1 We may shake hands with or smile at each other when we meet for the first time. 2 We must use “nin” to show our respect. 3 We will serve the visitors with tea, fruits and snacks. 4 We will have a big meal with our family during the Spring Festival. People may have lots of meat and jiaozi at the meal. 2. Write a passage about ways of life in your home town. Use your answers to the questions in Activity 5 to help you. (Activity 6 on page 91) A possible answer: People in my home town are friendly to each other. They may shake hands with or smile at each other when they meet for the first time. When they’re introduced to someone older, they usually use “nin” to show their respect. When there are visitors at home, the host will serve them with tea, fruits and snacks. The Spring Festival is the most important festival in my home town. People usually celebrate it by having a big meal with their families. They’ll have lots of meat and jiaozi.
