设计说明 首先复习Reading部分的内容,引出本课时内容。再呈现一系列有关大熊猫的问题,引导学生猜测可能性,通过大量的例句总结情态动词may的用法。再对大熊猫的内容进行提问,引出动词不定式。接下来引导学生讨论外出旅行的话题,两人一组练习动词不定式,进一步理解动词不定式。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标: 掌握词汇:closed, bat, bee, lost, save, get lost, the same... as 2.能力目标: (1)掌握并能正确使用情态动词may来表示可能性; (2)掌握并正确使用动词不定式作宾语的用法。 3.情感目标: 了解更多野生动物的信息。 重点难点 重点:掌握基本的单词、词组和句型。 难点:掌握并能正确使用may来表示可能性和动词不定式。 教学准备 PPT 课件。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in 1. Review the Reading part about the serious problems giant pandas are facing. T: Now giant pandas are facing serious problems. What are they? S1: It’s difficult for pandas to have babies. S2: The bamboo forests are becoming smaller and smaller. 2. Ask students two questions. (1) What do you think may happen to pandas? (2) What will happen to them if we do nothing? Answers: (1) They may become fewer and they may not have a place to live or food to eat. (2) Soon there may be none left. (Circle the word may in red chalk. Get the students to read the answers following the teacher and think about the use of may.) Step 2 Presentation 1. Present some pictures and ask students to fill in the blanks. (1) T: Why is the dog so happy? S: Maybe it finds some food. T: We can also say, “ It ________ ________ some food.” (2) T: What’s the dog doing? S: Maybe it is sleeping. T: We can also say, “ It ________ ________ sleeping.” (3) T: Why doesn’t the cat eat the fish? S: Maybe it doesn’t like the food. T: We can also say, “ It _______ ________ ________ the food.” Answers: (1) may find (2) may be (3) may not like 2. Present the first part of Grammar about the usage of may. Using may for possibility We use may to say that something is possible. may可用来表示猜测某件事发生的可能性,意为“也许,可能”。may通常用于肯定句与否定句中,一般不用于疑问句。 结构:may (not) + do sth. Sandy may be at home. 桑迪可能在家。 3. Complete what Millie says using may with the words in brackets. • The elephant is going towards the water. • The little boy is crying because he saw the tigers. Answers: (1) may need (2) may be (3) may hurt (4)may not be (5) may be playing (6) may be sleeping 4. Ask students to read the sentences and understand the usage of may. Step 3 Practice Work in pairs and choose two animals to make a dialogue. Here is the model. (G= zoo guide V=visitor) G: Welcome to Sunshine Zoo. Follow me, and I’ll show you around. V: Look at that...! What is it doing? G: It may be... V: Why is it doing that? G: It may... Step 4 Presentation 1. Ask students to answer the questions about pandas in different periods. (1) What did Xi Wang do at four months old? (2) What did Xi Wang eat when she was six months old? (3) What did Xi Wang learn when she was 20 months old? Answers: (1) She started to go outside for the first time. (2) She began to eat bamboo. (3) She learnt to look after herself. (Circle start to go outside, begin to eat bamboo and learn to look after herself.) Say: We can use to-infinitives after some verbs. 2.
