设计说明

让学生结合上节课所学，通过习题回顾上节课所学知识点。另外，通过给出各国特色食物的图片，教学生这些食物的说法及国籍相关表达，让学生使用句型like…best。由此导入新课，为后面的学习做准备。通过听课文、朗读、跟读，让学生熟悉课文内容，了解大意。通过让学生回答问题，让他们能够抓住主要句型的具体应用场景。通过食物图片让学生练习表示国籍的单词。让学生针对食品节进行小组讨论，进行调查，根据所给的句式结构，进行问答，并记录调查结果。通过这些活动的设置，让学生掌握对话内容并培养他们乐于表现的积极性。最后，设置适量当堂检测的题目，检测学生对所学知识的实际掌握情况。

教学目标

通过本课节的教学，让学生达成以下目标：

1.知识目标

掌握本课节新词汇：pie, raisin，scone，Thai；

能够正确运用like…best，be going to…；

进一步掌握特殊疑问句的提问和回答。

2.能力目标

通过针对性的问答训练，学会敢于表达，并锻炼独立思考的能力。

3.情感目标

了解中西方不同的饮食文化，拓展视野。

重点难点

重点：能够正确运用like…best，be going to…句式。

难点：让学生克服开口讲英语方面的畏惧心理，敢于表达。

Step 1 Revision

1. Ask the students to read the following passage, and fill in the blanks.

Kitty and her friends are going to (1) __________ money to take care of

(2) __________ animals in the SPCA. They are going to have an

(3) __________ food festival on (4) __________, 2 February. They are going to have it at (5) __________ in the morning in the (6) __________. Kitty and her friends are going to (7) __________ foods from (8) __________ countries. And (9) __________ mums are going to help them.

2. Ask a student to give his/her answers.

3. Check the answers.

Step 2 Warming up

1. Show some words and let the students say their Chinese meaning.

2. Show some pictures of food.

Chinese rice puddings          moon cakes

zongzi                      hot dogs

3. Ask the students a question “What food do you like best?” and let them answer.

4. Get them to ask and answer in pairs.

Sample:

Step 3 Look and read

Activity 1

Play the recording for students to listen to and repeat.

I like Chinese food best. I’m going to sell Chinese rice puddings, moon cakes and zongzi.

I like American food best. I’m going to sell hot dogs, apple pies and hamburgers.

I like English food best. I’m going to sell raisin scones and fish and chips.

I like Thai food best. I’m going to sell pineapple fried rice and prawn cakes.

Activity 2

Listen again. The students follow in their books. Ask some students to read. 

Activity 3

Ask the following questions and let the students answer:

What food does Peter like best?

What is he going to sell?

Ask some students to ask similar questions about Alice, Kitty and Joe and let other students answer.

Samples:

—He is going to sell Chinese rice puddings, moon cakes and zongzi.

Step 4 Find out and write

Activity 1

Give the students some pictures，and let them ask and answer in pairs.

Samples:

1. —Where are these foods from?

—They are from China. They are Chinese food.

2. —Where are these foods from?

—They are from America. They are American food.

3. —Where are these foods from?

—They are from Thailand. They are Thai food.

Activity 2

Ask the students to find out what food their classmates like best and what they are going to sell. Let them write about them and work in a group of four. Give them the key structures to help them.

Activity 3

Ask the students to fill in the blanks.

Choose some groups to give their answers.
