In a small village, there lived a farmer. He had a donkey(驴). His donkey would carry things from a river bank to his house. As the river was very far, the farmer would rest under a tree and tie(系) his donkey nearby.

Do you ever worry that you might waste food? During the COVID-19, many people around the world were going hungry. But people thought of special ways to try and help. One of these was to put fridges filled with food outside for people in need. This action was very popular in the US and now there are community(社区) fridges around the world.
However, this activity started before the COVID-19. Back in 2016, a restaurant owner in Kochi, India, had the idea late one night when she saw a lady looking for food in a trashcan(垃圾桶). She was really sad because that night, her restaurant had made lots of food. If she saw the lady a little earlier, she could give some to her.
In the UK, the idea of community fridges was used in Sommerset to fight against food waste and hunger, expecting people to give away and also take unwanted food. Some UK supermarkets and restaurants like Marks & Spencer and Greggs have helped.
Now there is a large activity in the UK giving people chances(机会) to use the community fridges. The charity(慈善组织), Hubbub, has worked with the Community Fridge Network to help to be in control of community fridges across the UK. Now there are over 300 fridges in the UK. Hubbub has worked with Co-op(合作社) to make 500 fridges available by the end of 2023.
“A fridge is much more than a fridge,” said Hubbub’s official(官方的) website. “The fridges bring people together and give people chances to get healthy food, try something new and save money.”

The hot pot(火锅) is one of the most popular meals in China. It has a long history of about 2,000 years. It used to be eaten in winter, but now it appears on tables all year round.
