(2) Students can describe the animals they like and tell the reasons.
(3)Train their listening skills, reading skills and English expressive ability.

(1)Review the content of the last lesson by showing pictures, and students can review previous easily.
(2)To inspire students’ think through listening and reading activities. So can exercise their listening and reading ability.
(3)Through speaking abilities, like group discussions and classroom questionings, which can put English into practice and train students’ English expressive ability.
3.Emotional attitudes and values:
(1)Through this class, set up the values of students to protect the ecological environment and mobilizes students to protect animals and nature.

Step 1--- Presentation&Lead in﹙10 mins﹚
Activity 1: Show an English video about animals, and ask students what kind of animals they see.

Activity 2: After watching this video, write the words about animals in Section-1a on the blackboard and teach students to read the words. Show the exercise in the book in PPT, choose the words and match them and ask some students to give their answers.

Step 2—Practice﹙25 mins﹚--Listening and reading
Activity 1: Look through the exercise in 1b and 1c, and play the recording for several times. Students choose the answers and fill in the blanks according to the listening content. And correct the answers.

Activity 2: Show the picture of elephant and ask students what is it? Look through the passage about elephant protection in 2b and check the best title for it and do the exercise 2c.Then lead the students read the passage carefully and tick the key words and sentences, ask some students to give their answers and check.

Activity 3: Do the exercise in 3a, fill in the blanks according to the context.

Activity 1: Imitate the conversation 1d. Make students practice conversations with their partners. Invite some volunteers come on the stage to give performances

Activity 2: Supplementary reading. Students read the excerpt about wild elephants together. Talk about the feelings after reading---No trading, no killing.

Homework: Write a short essay about your favorite animals.
