一、导入
Students discuss the following questions:
- What do people usually do on vacation?
- What activities do you find enjoyable?
二、目标
- 能读懂描述过去事件的语篇,并能根据不同阅读目的运用简单的阅读策略获取信息。
- 在语言活动中理解并能够运用activity, decide, try, feel like, bird, bicycle, building, trader, wonder, difference, top, wait, umbrella等词汇描述或交流假期活动。
- 熟读2b文章。
三、先学
- Students read the diary quickly and find out what the passage is mainly about.;
2. Students read the diary again and answer the following questions:
(1) Did Jane have a good time on Monday?.
(2) What about on Tuesday?
3. Students read the diary for the third time, and try to translate.
四、后教
- Translate the diary with the students together.
- Explain the important and difficult points.
- Language points:
(1) What activities do you find enjoyable?
① activity /æk'tɪvəti/ n. 活动
activity 是可数名词,其复数形式是变y 为i 再加-es,即activities。
② enjoyable /ɪn'dʒɔɪəbl/ adj. 有乐趣的;令人愉快的
enjoyable 作形容词,由“enjoy(享受;喜爱)+ 形容词后缀-able”构成。
e.g. Watching tea making is just as enjoyable as drinking tea. 观看沏茶跟喝茶一样令人享受。
构词法记单词
-able 表示“可……的;能够……的”,常加在某些动词或名词后,构成形容词。
e.g. believe → believable
value → valuable
(2) It was sunny and hot, so we decided to go to the beach near our hotel.
decide /dɪ'saɪd/ v. 决定;选定
decide 用作动词,常见用法有:
① decide(not) to do sth. 决定(不)做某事
② decide+ 特殊疑问词+ 不定式
③ decide+ 宾语从句
【针对训练】
The villagers decided ______ a new bridge over the river.

(3) My sister and I tried paragliding.
try /traɪ/ v.& n. 尝试;设法;努力
try 在句中作及物动词,其后接名词、代词、动名词或动词不定式。
try 还可以用作名词,意为“尝试”,一般用作单数形式。构成短语have a try “试一试”。
e.g. That’s not difficult. You should have a try.
那不难。你应当试一下。

(4)I wonder what life was like here in the past.
wonder 作及物动词,意为“想知道;琢磨”,相当于want to know,后面接宾语从句(wh- 从句,how 从句或if/ whether 从句)或“疑问词+to do 结构”。
e.g. I wonder if you can help me with my English this term.
我想知道,本学期你是否能帮我学英语。
She wondered what to do next.
她想知道下一步要干什么。
