1. Fast reading. Work on 3a. Read the passage and answer the questions.

 Which two events does the writer mention?

 How did the writer end up missing both event?

2. Read 3a, find the answers and read the sentences.

通读全文，回答问题并阅读答案。

While-reading

Careful reading.

1.  Read the first paragraph and answer the questions.
2. Read the second paragraph and put the sentences in the correct order.
3.  Read the correct order.

4.Read the passage again and complete the table.

5.Retell the two unexpected things.

本部分是课文细读部分。每读完一部分都要完成相应的任务，以检测对文章细节的理解。通过问题设计，让学生带着问题阅读，提高他们的英语阅读能力以及解决问题的能力。
