    I.Teaching Aims:

    1Students can read and use the following new words: exciting, lovely, expensive, cheap,slow,fast,robot,guide,gift, all in all, everything, be interested in,dark,hear

    2Students can speak out following verbs’ past tense: am/was,is/was,are/were;see/saw,draw/drew;eat/ate; have/had; rain/rained

    3)Students can read and understand the passages about different people’s school trips. 

    II. Difficult Points:

    1)the past tense of some verbs: am/was,is/was,are/were;see/saw,draw/drew;eat/ate; have/had; rain/rained

    2)How to help students read and understand the passage correctly.

    III. Teaching Methods and Study Ways:

     fast-reading ,careful-reading and post-reading; Pair-work and Group-work

    IV:Teaching Procedures:

     Step 1 Revision:

          1) Review Tonys and Janes school trips.

          Tonys school trip:

          Q1.How was Tonys trip?

    Q2.Where did Tony go on his school trip?

    Q3.What did Tony do there?

    Janes school trip:Jane had a _____ school trip. She ___ to the countryside and _____ the mountains. The weather ______ cold, because it ______ and _____ all day long.

    Step 2 New lessons:

         1) Lead-in : How was sbs school trip?

         2) Learn some new words about adjectives

         3) Describe things by using past tense and adjectives

         4) Play a game to consolidate adjectives

    Step 3 Reading:

         1)Fast-reading:Read Helens and Jims diary(日记) quickly and answer the questions.

          Q1.When was the school trip?  

    Q2.Where did they go?

    Q3.How do they feel about the trip?

    2)To find the key sentence or topic sentence(中心句).

    Passasge1:All in all, it was an exciting day.

    Passage 2:I didnt like the trip at all.

    2)Careful-reading:

    A)Read Helens and Jims diary entries and answer the questions.

    Q1. Did Helen and Jim go on the same trip?

    Q2. How did Helen and Jim go to the museum

    Q3.Was Jim interested in robots  

    Q4.What did  Helen do at the museum?

    Q5.Did Jim take any photos? Why?

        B)Read the diaries again and complete the chart. How do Helen and Jim describe these things?

    3)Post-reading:

    Fill ill in the blanks.

    Today I went _____ a school trip. We visited the science museum and it was really_________. We got there ______by train. We saw some farms and villages_____ the way. At the museum, I _______ a lot about robots. I didnt know they _____ play chess with us. It was so cool! Then the guide ______ us how to make a model robot. I took a lot of great photos, too. _____, I went to  the gift shop and ________some lovely gifts ____ my parents. They werent expensive. _________, it was an exciting day.

    Step 4 Writing:

     Rewrite(重写) Hellen's and Jim's school trips

    V. Homework:

    1. Review verbs past tense

    2. Write a passage to describe past things.
