Unit 1 What’s the matter? 教学案例一、指导思想与理论依据
《中学英语课程标准》指出:英语教学中应体现交际性,要结合学生的年龄特点和生活实际,创设交际情景,通过大量的语言实践,使学生获得综合运用英语和语言技能进行交际的能力。针对初中英语新教材容量大的特点, 依据 新课程理念,为了使教学面向全体学生, 采用课堂小组合作学习模式,充分发挥学生的创造性与积极性。
二、教材分析
本节课为本单元的第一课时,主要是让学生理解和运用本课的重点单词和句型。本单元的话题“Health problems” 学生都很热悉,很容易激发学生们的学习兴趣。要求学生结合生活实际,用所学的目标语言询问患者的病情,并能给患者提出治疗建议,新教材重视以人为本,学生的发展是英语课程的出发点和归宿。根据学生的实际情况,进行“教材分析”和“教材整合”,调整教学内容以符合学生的认知水平。
三、学情分析
笔者教学的对象是初二学生,他们学习英语有较强的记忆力和模伤能力,有较强的求知欲和表现欲,但部分学生存在不自信,羞于表现等思想顾虑,但又希望能得到他人的肯定。因此笔者在教学活动中尽量让这部分学生也参与到教学活动中来,让他们有更多的机会来说英语,减少他们的恐惧感,增强他们的自信心。有一些学生由于基础薄弱,缺少丰富的语言基础,对某些教学任务的完成有一定的难度,教师可采取小组竞争的办法,通过学生间的合作学习,促进小组成员之间的互帮互学,鼓励小组中的优秀成员主动帮助学习困难生,培养学生的团队意识。提高他们综合运用语言的能力,让他们都能体验到成功的喜悦,使各层次的学生都有所收获。
四、Teaching aims and demands教学目标
1.Knowledge Objects 引导学生掌握木单元相关的词汇和句型Learn and master the parts of the body, the names of the illness and the expressions of giving advice. 2. Ability Objects 能用所学的语言项目询问患者病情并提出治疗建议。
Enable students to talk about health problems and give advice with the language points. 3. Moral Objects Students care more about themselves and their family members’ health. 让每个同学都要有健康的饮食和生活习惯,保持身体健康。

七、Teaching Steps教学过程
Step 1. Lead in 导入 Sing the English song.“If you are happy and you know it ,clap your hands, If you are happy and you know it, nod your head, If you are happy and you know it stamp your feet, If you are happy and you know it,wink your eyes.” 教师通过多媒体播放“If you're happy”这首歌并让同学们一起唱,导入今天的新课。适当改编歌词,把身体器官的词用进去,为下面的学习打下铺垫。通过一首英文歌,有助于激发学生的的学习兴趣。 Step2 Presentation1New words about parts of bodyPresent a picture of a toy on the screen. Let students say each part of the body. Let the whole class touch the parts of their bodies when teacher say, “Touch your…”教师用多媒体播放一个小玩偶的图片,当点击玩偶身体部位时会出现相应的单词,学生跟读单词。在学习了关于身体器官单词后再玩一个游戏,“Touch the parts of your body.”教师发指令 “Touch your head/nose/mouth…”,让学生根据指令触摸相应的身体部位,并说出单词,通过游戏环节同学们巩固了今天学习的新单词。2.New words about illness1Let’s chant.Let’s chant“Toothache,toothache,I have a toothache;Headache,headache, I have a ,headache; Stomchache, stomchache, I have a stomchache;Sore back,sore back ,I have a Sore back.Sore throat,sore throat ,I have a Sore throat. Sore neck,sore neck ,I have a sore neck” 教师使用多媒体展示男女患者的图片。通过练习chant,学生们掌握了关于病痛的单词。Step3P ractice1Target langugeThen show some pictures about sick people on the screen and ask students to practice. Have students look at the pictures and ask them.T:What’s the matter? Ss:I have a stomachache.T:And what should the boy/girl/man/woman say? Ss:He/She has a stomachache.T:What’s the matter? Ss:I have a sore back.T:And what should the boy/girl/man/woman say? Ss:He/She has a sore back.Let students repeat with pictures about other illness. Ask some students to do an action to express an illness. Ask them to use gestures to show the illness, and have others to guess. Make a model dialogue. T:What’s the matter? Ss: He/ She has a headache/ toothache/ a sore back/ a sore throat/ a cold and a cough. 2 Pair work.Let students practice the target language about illness., and ask students to talk about health problems of the persons in the pictures in pairs. 教师使用多媒体展示男女患者的图片。先进行师生练习。教师提问“What’s the matter?” 学生说I have a 身体部位的词+ache./I have a sore+身体部位的词。然后学生根据图片回答He /She has a 身体部位的词+ache./He/She has a sore+身体部位的词。接着让学生两人一组进行Pair work。通过师生对话和小组活动,同学们掌握了目标语言。Step4 Consolidation Teacher pretends to cough and asks:T:What’s the matter with me? Ss:Do you have a cough/ a sore throat? T:Yes, I have a sore throat. Can you give me some advice? What should I do? Ss:You should drink hot tea with honey/ shouldn't talk too much/ go to a doctor…(Students can give different advice as they like) Show different pictures to students, have them practice in pairs. S1:What’s the matter with him/ her? S2:He/She has a/ an toothache/ fever/ headache…(Teach the new words)S1:What should he/ she do? S2:He/ She should go to see a dentist/ lie down and rest/ drink a lot of water./see a doctor… S3He/ She shouldn't drink cold water/ play basketball… 1.Group work Work in groups, and have students role-play between a doctor and a patient. Ask them to talk about the health problems and give advice in groups. Have students work in pairs according to 1c and ask some pairs to act out their conversations.2.Have a survey. Have students do a survey in groups about their health problems, then discuss in groups and give some right advice and make a new conversation. Ask each group to report their conversations.教师出示一些表示病痛的图片,师生间先进行对话,然后让学生进行小组活动,通过口语训练,同学们学会了如何给病人一些建议。然后让同学们分小组做关于每个同学的健康调查,然后每个小组派一个代表,在全班进行关于小组成员健康问题的汇报。Step5 Expansion and Extension : Role-play the conversation. First, have students to role-play the conversation in 2d in groups and choose the best. In groups, students discuss the language points and solve the problems.The teacher walks around and gives them some help if they need. 让同学们分角色表演对话,如果有疑难问题,可以向老师或同组同学寻求帮助。 Step6 SummaryAsk students to sum up the parts of a body and the names of illness. Help students to sum up how to give advice by using “should” and “shouldn't”,then ask them to give the right advice about different problems. 让同学们自己总结今天学习了关于身体部位和病痛的单词,以及如何询问患者病情并给出建议的句型。 Step7 Homework Make a dialogue。(Give advice to the following problems as much as possible: sore throat,toothache, headache, cold. Then choose one to make a dialogue with your partner. Ithink you should lie down and rest. 教学反思: 本节课在教学中注意利用图片和教师的动作,从感官上刺激学生,能很快地抓住学生的注意力,再通过学生小组表演,给学生充分表现自己的机会,充分体现学生在教学中的主体地位。医生和病人的游戏一方面巩固了所学知识,另一方面训练了学生之间合作解决问题的能力,并通过给别人提出合理建议,让学生充满成就感。 多媒体辅助教学可以提高课堂教学容量,调动学生学习积极性,实现信息传递的多渠道化,但要注意呈现的速度,做到张驰结合。 本节课各教学环节之间联系比较紧密,但时间分配上教师应该注意根据学生的课堂反应把握教学节奏。
