Lesson 20: Join Our Club!
设计说明 首先教师展示几张与俱乐部有关的图片,以图片导入本课时的话题Join Our Club (参加我们的俱乐部),让学生思考并和同桌讨论自己参加的俱乐部。再了解学生对词汇的掌握情况,并进行进一步的巩固练习,然后,通过播放录音,了解俱乐部的类型,并通过听对话回答问题;接着,读短文。利用Let’s Do It!中的练习题对文章内容进行巩固。最后,利用第4题做笔头练习,由听、说、读的训练过渡到写的训练。本节课从多个角度、多种形式上对语言知识进行练习,从而达到教学目的,实现教学目标。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词:join,improve,skill, meeting, act, useful,role, team, shape, level,pool 接触单词:thinking,challenge 短语和句型:make friends, at the same time, enjoy doing..., stay in shape We do lots of role play games in our classes. Join us today or stop by the pool to learn more. 2.能力目标 (1)了解不同俱乐部的信息; (2)能用英语描述自己所在的或想加入的俱乐部。 3.情感目标 学会表达自己的兴趣爱好,鼓励学生参加各种俱乐部。 重点难点 1.重点:掌握本课节的重点短语及句型。 2.难点:能用英语描述自己想要加入的俱乐部。 教学准备 PPT 课件;本课节用到的录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in 1. Talk about clubs in the school. Ask the following question: What clubs do you have in your school? 2. Encourage students to say as much as clubs. Teacher can show some pictures to help them.
3. Show some pictures of clubs and let students say: What clubs are they? Acting Club Science club swimming Club Ss:They are… Step 2 Presentation 1. Teach students to learn about the new words. join /dʒɔɪn/ v. 参加 improve /ɪmˈpruːv/ v. 提高;改善 skill /skɪl/ n. 技能;技巧 meeting /ˈmiːtɪŋ/ n. 聚会;会议 act / ækt/ v. & n. 行动;扮演 useful /ˈjuːsfl/ adj. 有用的;有益的 role /rəʊl/ n. 职能;角色 team /tiːm/ n. 队;组 shape /ʃeɪp/ n. 样子;形状 level /ˈlevl/ n. 水平;标准;质量 pool /puːl/ n. 小池;水塘 2. Ask students to read them for some times and know their meanings. 3. Let students fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in the box.(Let’s Do It! No.3)

I’m Wang Tao. I like role play games and enjoy acting. Step 4 Reading 1. Ask students to read the lesson and fill in the table.

Step 5 Group work Ask students to discuss the questions below in groups and present their answers to the class. 1. What clubs do you have at your school? 2. What clubs do you want to have at your school?Why? Possible answers: 1. We have Music Club,Art Club and Football Team. 2. Chess Club. Because I think it can improve my thinking skills. Step 6 Individual work 1. Ask students to think about a club that they have joined or would like to join. Then write a short passage about it. Show the following points to them. ☺What club is it? ☺ What is good about the club? ☺ Do you enjoy it? ☺ What do you think of the club? 2. Show an example to students: I am going to join Acting Club, because I am interested in the movie, and I think the Acting Club can improve my social skills. Step 7 Language points 1. Do you want to improve your thinking skills? 你想提高你的思维技能吗? (1)want动词,意为“想要”。常用短语:want sth. “想要某物”;want to do sth.“想要做某事”;want sb. to do sth. “想要某人做某事”。 I want to buy a pen. 我想买支钢笔。 (2) skill 名词,意为“技能,技巧”。主要是用来指实际工作或操作中运用的技巧和能力。 The smart boy has a strong listening skill. 这个聪明的男孩子有很强的听力技能。 2. Do you want to make new friends?你想要交新朋友吗? make friends 交朋友。 make friends with sb. 意为“和某人交朋友”。 She wanted to make friends with the popular students at school. 她想与在学校里受欢迎的学生交朋友。 3. Join our chess club!加入我们的国际象棋俱乐部! join动词,意为“加入”。它常用来表示加入某个组织、团体、党派等,并成为其中的一员。 常用短语:join sb. in (doing) sth. “加入到某人中一起做某事”。 They joined our music club last year. 他们去年加入了我们音乐俱乐部。 【拓展】表示“加入,参加”的词还有take part in、attend 等。 4. You will learn and have fun at the same time. 你将在学习的同时玩得很开心。 at the same time 与此同时。 The two runners reached the finishing line at the same time. 这两个跑步运动员同时跑到终点。 5. Club meetings are going to start next week. 俱乐部会议将在下周开始。 (1) meeting是可数名词,意为“会议,聚会”。 常用短语:hold/have a meeting“开会”;sports meeting“运动会”。 (2)【辨析】 start与begin 二者都意为“开始”,一般情况下可以互换使用,且后面都跟名词、代词、不定式或动名词。 The sports meeting starts/begins at 8 o’clock.运动会八点钟开始。 I started/began to play the piano at the age of five.我5岁时开始弹钢琴。 6. Acting is fun and useful. 表演既有趣又有用。 (1) acting 在此句中作主语。当单个动名词 (短语) 作主语时,谓语动词要用单数形式;但是如果多个动名词(短语)并列作主语,则表示复数,谓语动词要用复数形式。 Seeing is believing. 眼见为实。 Reading books is really helpful for students. 对于学生来说,读书很有用。 (2) useful形容词,意为“有用的”。该词是由use 加形容词后缀ful构成的形容词,其反义词为 useless(无用的)。 This dictionary is very useful. 这本词典非常有用。 It can be useful to write a short summary after a lesson. 一节课结束后,写一个简短的总结很有用。 Don’t just sit watching TV! Make yourself useful! 别光坐着看电视! 帮一下忙吧! 7. We do lots of role play games in our classes. 我们在课上做许多角色扮演游戏。 role名词,意为“职能,角色”。常用短语:play a role of ... “扮演……的角色”;play a role/part in“在……中起作用”。 He was invited to play a role in this TV play. 他受邀在这个电视剧里扮演一个角色。 Computers play an important part in our daily life. 电脑在我们的日常生活中扮演着重要的角色。 8. You can stay in shape and have a good time. 你可以保持体形并且玩得高兴。 stay in shape保持体形。其中shape是名词,意为“样子,形状”。 She eats little to stay in shape.她吃得很少以保持体形。 9. Join us today or stop by the pool to learn more. 今天加入我们或者在游泳池旁停留一会儿来了解更多情况。 stop by 停在……旁边,也可译为“顺便拜访”,相当于drop in at,其后接地点名词。 I can stop by the shop to buy some fruit for you. 我可以顺便去商店为你买些水果。 Step 8 Homework 1.
