Step 2 Presentation (PPT 8-11) | Work on 1a. 1.Show the pictures of the two restaurants in 1a.Ask Ss to describe them. 2.Help Ss to say out their thoughts or feelings.The teacher writes “make sb.adj.” and “make sb.adj.” on the blackboard to help them. 3. After they understand these, get them to ask and answer in pairs:Which restaurant do you like?Why? 4. Call some Ss to give their answers and reasons. Work on 1b. 1. Read the instructions and the contents in 1b. 2. Play the tape for Ss to listen and ask them to fill in the blanks. 3. Check the answers in pairs.Do it like this: S1:The awful pictures… S2:The awful pictures make Amy uncomfortable. 4.The teacher asks the class: What kind of pictures make Amy uncomfortable? And get Ss to answer with full sentences. Work on 1c. 1. Ask Ss to say which restaurant Amy or Tina likes according to 1b. 2. Read aloud the conversation with one student as a model.Then practice it in pairs. 3. Get Ss to correct their predictions about Amy and Tina.Say these sentences with the main structures “make sb.do sth.” and “make ab. adj.” Amy didn't want to go to a restaurant with rock music, because quiet music makes her relax. 4. Show another two restaurants to Ss and make them work in pairs. A: I’m hungry. B: So am I. Which restaurant...? A: I’d rather go to...I like to listen to ... while I’m eating. Step 3 Listening&Pair work (PPT 12-14) | Work on 2a. 1. Ask Ss to talk about their own feelings about waiting for sb.,loud music and sad movies.Get them to use the main structures“make sb.do sth.” and “make ab. adj.”. 2. Look at the pictures in 2a and talk about these pictures in pairs. 3.Play the tape for the first time.Ss listen and number the pictures 1-4. 4. Check answers in class. Work on 2b. 1. Ask the class to pre-fill the blanks in 2b according to the pictures and the tape.Remind them of the adjectives about feelings. 2. Play the tape again.Ss listen and finish their filling work. 3. Play the tape once more and check the answers with the whole class.The teacher asks questions to get Ss answer with complete sentences. Work on 2c. 1. Ask Ss to look at 2a and 2b. 2. Role-play a conversation between Tina and John. Use the example to begin your conversation. Ss work in pairs,making their own conversations like this: John: Did you have fun with Amy last night?
