The by’s mther turned t the dg, “Okay, Pppy, time t g back hme.”
    4 The huse seemed quiet as a tmb withut the by living there. All that week, Pppy didn’t seem interested in her dinner, her favrite ty, r even in her daily walk. Her wners were sad t, but they knew their sn wuld be back t visit. Pppy didn’t.5 They ffered the dg sme f her favrite peanut butter treats. They even let her sit n the sfa, but the ld girl just wasn’t her usual cheerful self. Her wners started t get wrried. “What shuld we d t cheer Pppy up?” asked Dad. “We’ve tried everything.”6 “I have an idea, but it might be a little crazy.” smiled Mm. “Withut anybdy left in the huse but us, this place culd use a bit f fun. Let’s get a little dg fr Pppy.”7 It didn’t take lng befre they walked thrugh the frnt dr carrying a big bx. Pppy welcmed them hme as usual, but when she saw the bx, she stpped. She put her nse n it. Her tail began wagging (摆动) ever s slwly, then faster as she caught the smell.
    Paragraph 1: Dad pened the bx and a sweet little dg appeared. Paragraph 2: A few weeks later, the by arrived hme frm the university.

Seeing this, the parents laughed in relief. Fr the next few weeks, with the tw dg's cmpany, the nce tmb-like huse was filled with jy again. A few weeks later, the by arrived hme frm the university. He was ttally astnished when he was greeted by the tw dgs running ut f the huse, his parents fllwing them, but he sn understd and gave his family a warm hug. The huse was then lit up with mre happiness, with the vice f the by sharing his new life and the parents describing the scene when the by was nt hme. When the parents went t the kitchen, the by strked his new family member and said, “Thank yu, thank yu fr accmpanying my family when I was nt hme.”

But Pppy was s verjyed t have a new cmpanin that she kept giving ut welcming purr. With the aid f her respnsibility, anxiety and cnfusin inside the new cmer seemed t melt ut. He bunded ut f the bx and began t play with Pppy. Bth dgs chased each ther and rlled n the flr, making funny sunds. Watching this scene, their wners grinned frm ear t ear. Frm then n, Pppy gradually gt cheerful and the new dg gt used t life here. A few weeks later, the by arrived hme frm the university. Hearing the vice f her ld friend, Pppy rushed ut like lightning and put her frnt paws n his knees as if they had been separated fr centuries. The by hugged his parents, and then bent dwn t pat her. He gt a surprise when seeing the little puppy even thugh he had already knwn him frm his parents. With excitement he walked t him and rubbed his back. Nt afraid f him at all, he gave ut a purr f pleasant and licked the by’s fingers. The by culdn’t help laughing and playing with them. Standing beside were his parents, satisfied with the lvely scene. Withut being nticed, the huse was flded with jy and warmth.

    首尾呼应型结尾是指续写的结尾和原文的开头相互照应。这种结尾方式不仅使行文连贯,忠于主题,而且首尾有始有终,好似一个“圆”,提升读者的阅读兴趣。

    留白型续写结尾是指以一个动作、一个变化或事情发展的后续结束故事,不用直截了当地方式表达,以给读者留下想象的空间,从而达到言有尽而意无穷的效果。

    Example 4: 2018年6月浙江省高考读后续写
    反思型结尾中,作者往往通过一个心理活动的描写,凸显篇章的主题,对全文起到画龙点睛的作用。

There we were, face t face with Old Man Dnvan. Our knees were shaking. We had visins f rcks punding ur bdies and bullets piercing ur hearts. 5 "Cme here," he said, reaching up t ne f his apple trees. Still shaking, we went ver t him. He held ut several ripe, juicy, red apples. "Take these hme,” he cmmanded. We tk the apples with surprised hearts and ran all the way hme. Of curse, Leigh Ann and I ate the apples. 6 As time went n, we ften went thrugh Old Man Dnvan's farm, and he kept n giving us mre luscius fruit. One day, we stpped by t see him when he was n his frnt prch. We talked t him fr hurs. While he was talking, we realized that we had fund the ther hidden treasure: the sweet, kind heart hidden behind his gruff vice. Sn, he was ne f ur favrite peple t talk t. Unfrtunately, his family never seemed t enjy ur cmpany. They never smiled r welcmed us in.

On my way back hme, the wind whistled thrugh the trees, as if murning fr the death f Dnvan. I realized gne were the days when we sat tgether chatting with each ther. I realized gne were the days when we were lucky enugh t have a taste f the luscius fruit grwn by him. Hwever, he left us a hidden treasure—his kind heart, which shall never die away with the passage f time.
