展开Unit 3 Artificial Intelligence教学设计(二)第三、第四课时 Reading and Writing一、教材分析本课教学内容选自教材Unit 3 Reading and Writing部分,在阅读部分要求学生能读懂有关人工智能应用的优缺点,进行开放性思考讨论,在写作部分,并就一些科技产品发表观点。二、学情分析经过前两节课听说的学习,学生对人工作智能有一定的了解,并能表达赞同与不赞同的观点,但学生还不能辩证的看待人工智能领域对人类生活的影响.通过阅读,进一步培养概括、提炼、分析关键信息的阅读能力,以及职场语言沟通能力和思维差异感知能力。在写作部分,他们对议论文的文体结构没有具体了解,通过写作夯实语言基础,了解议论文的行文结构,学会区分事实和观点。三、教学目标After leaning this lesson,students can通过本课的学习,学生能够1.know about the advantages and disadvantages of AI, collect key information for comparison, analysis and judgment;读懂有关人工智能应用优缺点的文章,并根据需要提取关键信息进行对比, 分析, 判断;understand the structure of argumentative writing and learn to distinguish between facts and opinions;理解文章段落大意,了解议论文的行文结构,学会区分事实和观点;express their views on the application of scientific and technological products, and write an argumentative writing with supporting arguments.就科技产品应用上发表观点,与支撑观点的论据,写出一篇简短的议论文。 四、教学重点、难点分析教学重点:能读懂有关人工智能应用优缺点的文章,了解议论文的行文结构,学会区分事实和观点。教学难点:能发表人工智能对生活带来积极或者消极影响的观点,并提出事实支撑,写出议论文。五、教学过程Before class 课前:* 1. 拓展活动: 学生课前完成教师发布的有关人工智能对你带来消极还是积极影响的调查问卷,问卷内容如下:开放性问题:1. What AI devices have you used in your life?例如:smart speaker , wireless Bluetooth headset, smart lock, sweeping robot2. Is AI positive or negative for you?A. positive B. negative3. What do you think AI is suitable for?A. life B.work C. education D. medical care D. national defense4. Think and discuss. 处理教材活动9(1)教师播放教材配套微课视频,讨论人工智能目前应用的领域,并完成活动9。Possible answers:intelligent robot,mobile payment,face recognition,doctors perform long-distance operations through 5G technology,intelligent communication,intelligent management(设计意图:本环节首先通过读前活动,引出主题,播放人工智能应用领域的微课视频,激发兴趣,为后续活动做铺垫。)Step 2 While-reading1. Read and choose.处理教材活动10,梳理关键信息,分组讨论每个段落主题,找准主题句T: Please read the article and find the topic of each paragraph2. Read and decide.处理教材活动12(把活动11和活动12的顺序做一下调整), 学生先判断观点描述,教师点名检查反馈,教师可以给出讲解提示:T: Please find sentences that express views.中“a welcoming attitude”是表达了欢迎的态度;2) 中“obvious benefits”表达了一种主观判断。3. Read and complete.处理教材活动11, 学生通过找出观点句,及人工智能是积极或者消极影响的观点,在此基础上,学生找出事实支撑,锻炼逻辑思维和分析能力T: Please find out the facts supporting the negative or positive impact of AI.积极影响:AI can do benefits to human beings.① People use mobile payment instead of credit card or cash.② People can unlock their screens of mobile phones with face recognition.③ Doctors perform long-distance operations through 5G technology.消极影响:AI may do harm to human beings.① AI may lead to many people losing their jobs.② Human may lose their thinking ability.③ It can cause risks, even serious disasters.4.Think and group 处理教材活动19(教材活动19是活动11的延续,所以整合到此处)思考并将AI 的优缺点归类T:Please classify the advantages and disadvantages of AI5. Key words and sentences•Thanks to the development of computer science, AI has been applied in many fields, such as self-driving, medical practices, smart homes and education. 由于计算机科学的发展,人工智能已经在很多领域得到应用,比如无人驾驶、医疗实践,智能家居和教育。“thanks to”为介词词组,意为“多亏,由于”。•On the other hand, there is a fear that AI may lead to many people losing their jobs. 另一方面,也存在一种忧患,人工智能可能导致很多人失业。“There is a fear that...”意为“有一种忧患 / 恐惧”,之后跟 that 从句解释说明忧患/恐惧的具体内容。•Whether it is a good thing or a bad thing depends on how people use it. 它带来的影响是好是坏取决于人们如何利用它。“Whether it is a good thing or a bad thing”为主语从句,“how people use it”为宾语从句。(设计意图:本环节通过梳理关键信息,找出主题句,再找到观点句与支撑观点的事实依据一系列活动,层层递进,在掌握阅读策略的同时又了解议论文的行文逻辑,培养信息分析能力,为后文的写作做铺垫。)Step 4 Post-readingRead and describe & Write and practice. 处理教材活动14、活动15(活动13放在后面写的部分)1.学生分成4个小组,每个小组各分配一组活动14的图片并描述图片内容,完成观点补充,教师叫名检查各小组完成情况,并及时给予反馈。2.根据活动14的内容,补全活动15的短文信息1) Thanks to the increasing application of high technology2) advantages over traditional books3) obvious benefits, take notes or mark important points4) In addition, cause health risks to, depends on(设计意图:本环节把活动内容作了调整,通过活动14图片信息提示,完成观点补充,再补全活动15的短文信息,层层深入,更进一步了解议论文的行文结构,锻炼学生的逻辑思维能力,为后续的写作活动做语言方面的准备。)Step 5 = 3 \* ROMAN Writing Discuss and share. 处理教材活动13(分享对人工智能的看法改成更贴近学生生活的分享手机给自己带来的利与弊)。学生仿照阅读材料,分享手机给自己带来的利与弊,注意用事实支撑自己的观点,15分钟内完成写作。T: Follow the reading materials, share the advantages and disadvantages by mobile phones, pay attention to supporting your point of view with facts, and finish writing in 15 minutes.*(1)铺垫活动:找出活动 11中观点句的表达方式观点表达:There are two sides of opinions about it.When it comes to..., different people have different opinions.a welcoming attitudeobvious benefitsThere is a fear that...(2)讨论对比智能手机的利与弊,写出“观点+多个论点+结论”的议论文 论点参考:1.
