    Step1) lead-in and revision

    1.(黑板上画个彩虹)

      T: What can you see in the blackboard? We can see one after the rain.

      T: Have you seen a rainbow before? Who has seen a rainbow before? Is it beautiful?

      T: How many colours are there in a rainbow?

      T: What colour do you like best? Why? Tell us something about it?

     (T: Different people like different colours)

    2. Please look at our classroom. What colours can you see? How do you like the colours?

       If our classroom is black, how will you feel?

    3.Now, I will show you a story about a black bridge.

     What did you get from the story?

     (T:Colors are important./ Colours can influence and change our moods)

    4.So, colour therapy is very popular now.

     

    Step2)Presentation

    1.Now let’s talk about Colour Therapy and enjoy the power of colours. First, read the information about Colour Therapy and guess the meanings of the new words.

    2.Read new words after me. /Read together/Please keep them in your mind.

    3.Pay attention to the word: therapist(颜色治疗师) Mrs Rainbow is a therapist. She practises Colour Therapy. Do you know the word practise?

    4. Do you have any problems to ask Mrs Rainbow for help? I cannot sleep well.

       With these problems, let’s go to Mrs Rainbow’s therapy centre. Read about the therapy centre and fill in blanks in part A1. Read quickly for key information, not every word.

    Read together.

    5.Then how can the therapy help us?

    Let’s listen to an interview with Mrs Rainbow and complete the rest blanks in Part A1.

    Before listening, let’s predict the answers.

    Listen and check answers.

    6.Complete the passage according to the listening material.

    7. We have learnt something about Mrs Rainbow’s colour therapy. Now let’s use the therapy to help a girl in our class, because she looks unhappy. She is Chen Xiangxi.

    T:What’s the matter with you?  

    C: I will go to Beijing to take part in a speech contest this weekend. I feel stressed.

    Please use the colour therapy to help her.

     (T:Both colours and clothes can change moods.)

    8.Andy is also talking with Millie about what to wear and what colour to choose for a party. Listen and answer.

    9.Read the dialogue after the record.

    10.How to express preferences. Read by yourselves and keep them in your mind.

    11.The Dragon Boat Festival is coming. We can have a day out. Talk with your partner about your plan such as what to do, what to wear, and what colour to choose.

    12.Great, all of us know the colour therapy well. Your old friend Suzy also wants to learn about Mrs Rainbow’ colour therapy. Listen to Suzy’s questions and help Millie answer them. Circle the correct letters.

    13.I have another listening tip for you: Look through the answers and underline key points(划出关键点) before listening.

    It’s difficult for you. Listen one by one and check your answers.

    Step3)Practice

    1.Pay attention to a sentence: She tells people what colours of food to eat.

      So food of different colours can also change people’s moods.

    2. Do you agree with her? Let’s watch a video.

    (看完视屏) How do you feel now? Do you feel happy? If you can them, you will feel happier. Let’s read a survey between foods. What colour of food is like best/least?

    3.T:After learning about colour therapy, do you know how to help yourselves?

     (Take out the paper) Tell us what you will do to help yourselves to change your bad moods.

    4.We have learned much about colour therapy, let’s use colour therapy to solve our growing pains:

    1. discuss in groups of four

    2. choose one to give a short report

    5.You are never alone !

    Use colours to help change your moods !

    Make your life colourful !
