1. weak adj. 虚弱的，无力的   be weak in 在某方面薄弱       反义词strong

2. bit n. 一点，小块

a bit 一点儿，同义短语a little， a little bit后接形容词，副词

三．句型大闯关

1. As soon as the man finished talking, Yu Gong said that his family could continue to move the mountains after he died.这个人一说完，愚公就说他死后，他的子子孙孙还可以继续移山。

1) as soon as 一……就……，引导时间状语从句，从句用一般现在时，主句用一般将来时。

2) continue doing sth. = go on doing sth. 继续做某事(前后做同一件事)

continue to do sth. = go on to do sth. 继续做某事（前后不是同一件事）

2.This story reminds us that you can never know what’s possible unless you try to make it happen. 这个故事提醒我们如果你不尽力去做就不会知道什么是可能的

 remind sb. of sb. / sth. 使……想到某人或某物；

 remind sb. that+从句 使人回忆起……。

remind sb. to do 提醒某人做某事 

3. Yu Gong found a good way to solve his problem. 愚公找到了一个解决他的问题的好办法。

a good way to do sth. 一个做某事的办法；

4. It doesn’t seem very possible to move a mountain.

移走一座山看起来似乎是不可能的。

seem似乎，好像。seem to be + adj.说明主语的特征或状态；It seems + that 从句 ，“好像/似乎……”。

5. But unless he can hide his tail, he cannot turn himself into a person. 但是，除非他把自己的尾巴藏起来，否则他不能把自己变成人。

unless  conj.如果不；除非。引导条件状语从句，相当于if…not。

turn…into…把……变成……。

6. One year, the weather was so dry that no food would grow. 有一年，天气太干旱了，以至于粮食颗粒不长。

so… that…是一个常见的句式结构，表示“如此……以至于……”，副词so之后接形容词或副词，that引导一个完整的句子。

7. It’s leading us to that wonderful house made of bread, cake and sugar. 引导我们到一个有面包、蛋糕和糖做成的漂亮的房子里。

lead sb. to sp.“带领某人去某地”；

lead to 导致 ；通向；

lead sb. to do sth. 带领某人做某事。
