Teaching progress
Step1 Warming up
- Greet the students.
- Free talk.
Answer the questions if you know the answers.
Step2 Presentation
- Tony and Jenny are eating food in the dining room. At this time, Gogo comes. He shows a picture of himself in Thailand.
- Listen to the dialogue and learn the new words, “Thailand”.
- Read the word one by one.
- Then ask one of the students, “ Where were you last summer holiday?” and learn the sentence patterns “ Where were you yesterday?” “ I was in ...”.
- Have a chant like this: Thailand, Thailand, I was in Thailand. Where were you yesterday? I was in Thailand.
- And and answer in pair.
- Learn the new words: spicy, good and sentence patterns in the same way.
- Look at Gogo’s another photo in Canada. Learn the new words: Canada, snowy, spicy, yucky, bad.
- Drill the vocabulary and target in different ways.
Step2. A lucky game
- Show the question in the middle and ask the students to choose the answer. Then have a lucky choice to check the lucky group.
- Ask students to speak their answers aloud.
Step3. Activities
Ask the students to stand up and sing a song together.
Step4 Practice
- Ask the students to work in pair and make a conversation like this:
A: Hi, _____!
B: Hello, _____!
A: Where were you last week?
B: I was in _____.
A: What was the weather like?
B: It was ______.
A: What was the food like?
B: It was ______.
A: How are you feeling?
B: It was ______.
- Choose two students and make a dialogue with them to give a demo first.
Step5 Make a survey
- Invite two students and ask them some information and give a demo.
- Ask the students to walk around the classroom to ask three of their friends and fill in the chart.
- Writing.
Use the information above to finish the writing passage.
- Ask several students to show in front if there is time left.
Step6 Summary
Sum up what we have learnt this class.
Step7 Homework
Ask your parents about one of their trips and finish the chart.
