At the end of the class, students should be able to write both simple and complex sentences using the (key) words/ expressions/structures learned today; |
教学重点 | ①How to master the key points, such as words, expressions, structures, and sentences, and how to use them in reading, listening, and writing parts. ②How to let them understand and use all the passive voices, all the attributive clauses with "that, which, and who" and all the word buildings learned in this term and reviewed in this module. |
教学难点 | The fluent usage of the key words/expressions and key sentences/structures reviewed in this module, especially all the passive voices and the attributive clauses. |

教学过程 | Grammar and speaking 1. Student should be able to finish the Grammar and speaking part by themselves within 25 minutes: ①Ask 4-6 students to speak out what the key points that they learned from the beginning of the latter term; ②Give them about 25 minutes to finish this part and check the answers; ③Pick out 5-6 students to check the answers and students should be able to translate and tell us why they choose this and what kind/kinds of language point(s) is/are used in each sentence; ④Students must be able to tell us the key differences among all the passive voices and attributive clauses and what meaning each clause or voice shows;
Vocabulary 2. Pick out 2 students not chosen before to work on the vocabulary parts. ①Dictate the key words learned in last unit/module; ②Give them about 10 minutes to finish this part and check the answers; ③Pick out 2 students to check the answers and students should be able to translate and tell us why they choose this and what kind/kinds of language point(s) is/are used in each sentence; ④Students should be able to tell us why a certain voice or clause is used here and which kind of clause or voice is used;
Listening 3. Play the recordings of part 9 & 10 and let students write down the answers according to the questions; 4. Check the answers and ask if they have any questions on the listening part; if so, illustrate what they ask; if not, move on to part 11; 5. Randomly pick out 2-3 pairs not chosen before to finish part 11 and encourage more students to interact with their own ideas;
Reading and speaking 6. Play the recordings of the texts; 7. Pick out some students to translate and tell us all the tenses and clauses used in the texts and why they are used; 8. Illustrate if they have any questions; Move on to the writing part if not;
Writing 9. Ask more students to interact in the writing part and ask them to share and discuss what they think and what they want to write; 10. Pick out 2-3 students to finish a writing at class and discuss together;
Practice from previous exam & Summary 11. Do some practice before summarizing; ①Give them 10 minutes to finish all the questions and randomly pick out some students different from previous ones to check the answers and they must explain how and why they choose or write it/them; ②Make them aware that all the questions are taken from the real High School Entrance Exams and that they should treat every single word/sentence seriously; ③Have a quick review/summary on what are learned today and invite more students to interact and complete the key points. Referring to the notes is permitted.
Homework 12. Assign homework. Pick out 1 student to read out the homework listed and translate. |
